The Difference

My Grizzly Mentor has taught me that to be truly successful I have to enjoy helping others, and learning, more than any other aspect of doing business. Sure you can have a passion, but if your passion involves making life miserable for others it can never bring true satisfaction.

You and I need a motive to lead us to action. Nothing is ever truly done just because. My Grizzly Mentor has taught me that there are 3 kinds of bears. Bears that take, Bears that make, and bears that share. Now there is more to it, but this just isn't the place to get into it.

You and I want to be bears that care, share, and give. Now this is not easy.

It is not always natural to want to help others, and genuinely care about them.

In the business world they say, "business is business." You and I both know that such an approach is not for us. We want to run businesses that cares more about adding value to those we do business with than about getting as much of their hard earned cash as we can claw.

It's easy to care only about #1. We all have had day dreams like these...

You and I naturally want things our way.

The Grizzly knows that he can have all that he needs in life so long as he helps other bears get what they need. The Grizzly has a certain level of confidence. The Grizzly is confident that if they help people, and do so honestly and respectfully, they will be able to run a business that is morally sound and provides them with the income they need.

This ties in with what Zig Ziglar has said:

You and I will experience the life our thoughts create. If we take no thought for others, we can not expect them to take thought for us. If we don't make it a priority in our lives to help out, give back, listen, and encourage others we will never truly find fulfillment.

I personally make no claims as to my personal ability to do things perfectly. I'm still being mentored by a Grizzly...Never beat yourself up for who you are, where you are at, or why things are as they are. Simply be willing to keep trying, and as you do try to help others. Have faith that things will work out.

Faith can be had in so many things, but very few actually lead to fulfillment.

Having the faith that being the best you can be, and running an honest business that cares for others and actually helps them can earning you a solid living is well worth all the effort.

In business we have to remember that its not about us, it's about them.

It doesn't matter if we like what we are doing if it doesn't resonate with or help anyone. You have to either help people get what they want or what they need.

The difference is made in why we do what we do.

Lets be real we all know we feel better when we do things for the right reasons. We need to accept that until we have proven the principles we are learning, such as this one we have to act in faith in order to put it to the test. Over time we can come to learn, and know the truth of these principles...until then we must be willing to do what we feel to be right in full faith that we are on the right path.

At the end of the day the extra efforts you make to build your business as best you can will be hard and challenging, but they will be far more fulfilling.

chances are...in the long term you'll be glad you did.

I know I expressed a rather large concept here.

I look forward to hearing what you think.

What moves you to do what you do? Is it all about you? Or do you want to help others?

Are you willing to work harder to be and do better?

Do you have the faith that doing what's right will pay off?

Thanks for taking the time to read through my post!
Please let me know what you think, lets talk about it...
If you enjoyed the most hit like, and feel free to leave a comment.

All the best to you and yours.

Evan

Yes, doing what is right generally requires us to work harder. It does not always initially appear to pay off, but in the long run, it is most rewarding.
Your statement that a bear should care, share and give made me think of the story of the warm fuzzies (giving) and the cold pricklies (not giving). We should never be afraid that in the giving of many warm fuzzies that our supply would run out. For with each that we hand out, more continue to grow.

Great comment. Glad you enjoyed the post. Thank you for sharing.

I'm a huge advocate of helping others! :) Great post!

I agree!

I love this and I think you are right on in what you are saying.

I agree with your Grizzly mentor. The more I learn, the more I am eager to share.
You didn't mention anything about sleeping bears :)

Awesome Evan. It makes perfect sense. Honestly, I was not expecting that for a response.
Cheers!

Thanks. Totally. In this case the sleeping bears would be the bears that take. They want things done for them. The are not awake to the realities of the world around them. They are not proactive. They believe and accept everything they are told. They don't like to learn or study. The have no drive to seek action. They would probably much rather hibernate then venture out. What do you think, ...does this make sense?

I enjoyed your writing but found the animations presented too much distraction and I had to consciously focus on the words. I will take the Saleen though!

Thank you for your feed back. I'm glad you had what I had to say. I'll so If I can make some improvements.
