Thanks, I used Generate Press upon building my first site here, as it was the one given during the free trial time. I go back and update it from time to time, but in this one I'm using the VW Medical Theme.
... we're always learning something new ... and i looked up the WordPress VW Medical Theme and it seems pretty good:

so suggest you might want to test any thing new in a 'sandbox' as Jay has mentioned during various webinars or what is coined as a 'test site' to see the effects as a trial run before you do anything substantive with your website ... and of course, remember to back up your actual website before any changes ...

Your theme developer was probably thinking of your mobile users experience and wanting your website to load quicker thus created a "if mobile device detected, don't load slider".
Is your website PageSpeed for mobile excellent?

The speed is great, but its also in the very early development stages. Working this theme has been a challenge, but I think it will pay off. If there is no way to get the slider on mobile, I'll just have to create additional content thats mobile friendly
Have you check other themes yet, to see if one of theirs works in mobile devices? See screen print below...

If it doesn't, it will require some CSS styling that you can add to the additional customisations tab at the bottom of the Appearance > Customise screen.

You need to look for something that refers to 'header background'.
It may offer you only colour options, but if they offer a background image option then you need to paste the URL of your image there.
Be aware, though, that it will need to be a fairly clean image in order not to clash with your WA banner on the right, as that is within the header.
If that option doesn't exist you will need to apply some CSS, as I said earlier.

I have tried this before and it has always failed. From an emotional standpoint, it just felt like "work." I actually love online marketing.
It's like a problem solving game for me, so if it's not fun, I have trouble doing it.
However, here are the two largest practical reasons targeting niches I didn't care about did not work for me:
1. The time it takes to learn about the subject matter enough that I could write quality content. I'd get hung up on defining a term or trying to figure out how to explain something. I would spend hours writing the most basic content. If it's not something you are already interested in, you probably will have to learn a lot about it to sound like an expert.
2. Competition. As Dale123 mentions below, most legit high-dollar niches have strong competitions. Just like they have with you, other people are drawn to those commissions. This makes even more critical to have awesome content, which runs into the research issue. You may find the perfect keywords, but if it's something expensive like TVs you're not only competing against other affiliates, you're competing against Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, etc. They have tons of money to throw at ad dollars.
My current site is taking on a very competitive niche. It's tough. I'm not used to waiting 2 months for page 1 rankings. However, I at least know the content inside and out. I spend 2-3 hours each post thinking of new ways to present the content and researching on Jaxxy. So if you decide to do it, I would suggest thinking of "outside the box" content to market the item.
Those are definitely two things to consider. I appreciate the well thought response. I'm sort of trying to split myself into different people. One who writes about what he cares about, and the other who seeks to capitalize on trending topics. Although I may not be passionate about the topics, I am passionate about the "end game."
I would say, if you mix it with things you are passionate about then it's easier to deal with. One of my first Niches with acne and although it's over 20 years ago the very name acne makes me feel sick. I wrote approaching 800 articles on the subject. They were very lucrative it was a great niche. However, the only reason I could continue and get into that momentum was by writing About things I loved as well
Niches that have higher spends, have higher competition - so it balances out.
Rather than trying to tackle a highly competitive niche it's easier just to target lesser competitve niches, and build out more sites as you gain momentum.
Making it easy for yourself is something I actually hadn't considered. I do have to consider the amount of work I'll have to put in to make it official. Good comment!

Remember, only one niche per website. Maintaining more than one website by adding content to it on a regular basis can be challenging.
Understood. Although I haven't been on this platform for very long, it just seems that the possibilities here are endless, and with a 50-website limit, I figure the chances of financial success will be greater with multiple websites.
I have a few that i'm passionate about, and I'm always writing content for them, whether I publish it or not. But does a store owner only sell the products he uses? Does a BMW salesman only drive BMWs? Although I enjoy writing content about my interests, should I ignore an opportunity to earn? I have 3 jobs in which I make hourly wages, and I'm pretty good at them. But I'm not particularly passionate about them. Does that mean I quit?

I will ask you this: do you want to be your online business the 4th job you are not particularly passionate about? I assume you want to start something you like very much and in the long run earn an income so that you can quit one (or all) of these jobs.
But maybe my assumption is misplaced...
As Diana said, if you are confident about writing for that niche and convince them you are enthusiastic about that topic. Then I say go for it. :-)
