What can I help you with today?

During the course of a day, I get quite a lot of PMs asking me questions when members get stuck over a huge variety of problems. Quite often, these questions are carry-on from either a reply I have put to one of the questions or a question that has come up and live chat.

I know why people carry on the discussion by private messenger. They don't want to look stupid or they have a perception that other people will consider him stupid. It goes without saying that both are wrong. Your question should always be asked in public because they help possibly 20 other people who want to ask the same question.

It's for these reasons that I would always recommend that you ask your questions publicly. Because of this if there's anything you want to carry on today, anything you're stuck on anything you would like greater clarity on. This will include things that you have done, steps that you completed you not absolutely sure why you don't. If there's anything you want to a greater understanding of please ask your question below.

I am sure this community is what it is other super experienced marketers will jump in and offer their point of view and experience

Hi Catherine, well I sure can relate to some of the points you make in your post.

I do feel like most of the questions I ask, I should already know the answers to. Therefore I am reluctant and sometimes yes I do feel stupid when asking questions. This is a shell that I built for myself.

I am getting better though and thanks to incredible friends like you, I am breaking out of this shell. There are no such things as stupid questions. Not asking the question slows down progress.

Thank you very much, Catherine.

All the best,
Michael

Spot on there Michael when you or anyone ask a question I don't think, I wonder why Michael doesn't know that. I don't care why you don't know it. I just want to help. We all struggle with the simplest things at times

Yes we need to get into the habit of asking questions. The only dumb question is the one not asked this was told to me by Jeffery Brown her in WA well respected member well we all are. I always have that in my head to not think my question is dumb.
Thanks Jeff.

Cheers,
Mathew&Deloris;

Very much appreciated, M & D!

He is indeed a well-respected member our Jeff and I am privileged to have him leave a comment

Wow, Catherine! I am deeply humbled by what you have said! 🙏

My grandma always told me if you can sending nice don't say anything at all. Your rank shows your value but more than that the engagement you have on your posts and encouragement you give to people is a huge asset to the community as a whole. Apart from that where would I be without my blog dogs?

Mt grandma said the same thing! Our Grandmothers were wise women, indeed! I don't know where I will be without the Blog Dogs either! Never a dull moment, Catherine! Thanks for all the help that you are willing to give all of us!

Jeff

And you too, you always have everybody's back

Thank you very much, Catherine! I'll continue to do my best!

Jeff

Hi Catherine, as per your advise a minute ago in LiveChat-- regarding someone approached me and ask if she could guest post on my site? --

I double checked her email, (as you instructed me to make sure her blog is congruent to mine) but, unfortunately she didn't provide me her website link so there's no way I could check her blog.
She emailed me using her gmail.

In addition, she just told me that, if I approve, she then will send me list of "amazing" topics to choose from.
The last thing she said is, I should give her a backlink within the guest post article.

What do you think about that?

To be honest, I don't understand why she approached me-- I don't have a huge traffic yet-- I'm still working on it.

Are there people doing guest post randomly?

Because if I'm going to apply for a guest post, then I'd go and try to hit bigger websites than mine, right?

Thanks again. Sorry, this is quite long.

Minah

No problem at all Minah. My first reaction is it's a newbie like you who wants to increase their traction. There is no harm in not for either of you if their blog is congruent to yours.

For instance, as far as you know, at the present time, their blog could be a porn site! You definitely won't don't want to be giving a backlink to that.

Ask for a link to her website give her minimum word count and tell her that you will only say yes if you approve the article. That gives you some leeway for now. She could be a crap writer and you don't want that on your website however by looking at her website it will give you more of a clue.

This is an article I wrote a few days ago which is quite long but it may help you to bookmark it by clicking on the star next to the green comments of the top it may help you for future use. And of course you can ask many more questions here or anytime

Thanks a lot for your reply. It's a huge help.

I wish she's decent, so we could work together and help each other like you said.

I'll go and check out your post. Sure, there'll be something to learn from it.

Thanks again!

What is your niche and I may be able to suggest some people to start guest blogging

Wow! That would be great!

I just changed my niche. I tried MMO the first time, got stuck.
Now, I'm all about blogging.
Which is supposed to be focusing on older people, but somehow, I'm getting younger visitors, probably my main social media is Pinterest

I'm using I'm learning here in WA and other few blogging courses I bought.

THat would be why Weirdly I target older people in MMO and most of my readers are in their 30's. That sounds great to write as a journal In that case see if you can find someone here to guest blog with

The only dumb questions are the ones not asked...The questions format here on WA ranks very high with me. I've asked many questions because I need to know.
If you're not yet familiar with the Ask a question page, click on 'help' and a drop down menu appears. Ask A Question is in that menu. Click on it and ia drop down overlays the page.
Now you can ask your question by entering the question and in the box below, describe the help you need.

There is a minimum number of words in your actual question before you can send your question.

The word count is unbeknownst to me. Maybe someone knows here.
For example, sometimes I only need a few words in my question, yet, I'm informed that the question is too short.
To that I add:
WHAT is the question?
Exactly.....

Hope this helps you ask your questions!

Thank you as always Rudy for your insightful comments

You're welcome, Catherine.

We like that one the dumb question is the one not asked.

Cheers,
Mathew&Deloris;

Yup...and I've asked a bunch of dumb questions...lol. especially if I was tired. I've looked at my questions and wondered 'what the heck' on a few of them...grin.

We have all been there

Agreed Catherine. It can also become quite overwhelming if a significant number of people start PMing you. The official channels do work and people have to be confident that they will work

I will always reply to Pm's no matter how many I get. I also have my Skype ID on my profile but sometimes I think question should be answered in public because they benefit a greater number of people.

You are a wonderful energy Catherine

Wow, that is a wonderful thing to say thank you very much Hugh
