The global online education market is projected to witness a CAGR of 9.23% during the forecast period to reach a total market size of US$319.167 billion in 2025, increasing from US$187.877 billion in 2019.

Those figures are absolutely staggering. Each 1 of you here should be thinking about creating your own products, educational products in the next year

PRODUCT LAUNCH CHECKLIST - PHASE 1

1. Research/Know/Think About . . . what problems does your audience have?

What's the thing that sucks for them? They might not even complain about it, but you know it needs to be fixed. What are two steps that could be one? What's regularly misunderstood ( Stock Market short selling) What's always on the to-do list because it's something they just don't want to do? What is costing them money that could be making them money? What lousy advice are people getting?

2. When you figure that out, does the product exist to fix it?

What is their product missing? AND maybe it's the fact that the creator never really experienced it. Think of Rachel's book "The Brave Art of Motherhood". Sure, Brene' Brown and Rachel Hollis had books on similar topics, but they hadn't actually lived it. They didn't know the true pain, nor the real solutions that matter. Rachel's "Unique Selling Proposition" is that she actually lived it.

3. While you're researching competitors, take note of

What do they charge, what do their buyers get, what's their headline, colors, etc. . . (You'll need this later, but get it now while you're researching).

4. Now it's time to decide what problem you want to solve.

What is your product/course going to promise?

5. Create a loose outline of what needs to be in the product.

Don't think about platforms, or video, or any of that at this point. Start putting together what needs to be in the course to make it really valuable. Go back to the promise we're making . . Plus, what is the very earliest stage someone needs to be in to take advantage of this course. Do you need to explain what the internet is?

What is a website?

What is content?

How to use WordPress?

How to sign up for Instagram?

Have they already made their first $? What intro would set them up for success, and then what steps must you take them down to get them to the solution?

6. Now, let's think about deliverables

Does your course need an accountability group? One-on-one time? Video? Pdf workbook? Do they need to see your face? Do your people really just want to read the solution?

Always keep your "promise" in mind. Extras are sometimes just fluff that isn't required. If I charge you $199 to teach you how to put together an event and you make $100,000 doing it, what's a better value? If it only takes you 5 minutes to learn? Or if you have to run through 48 modules? If the results are the same, how much happier will you be if it only took 5 minutes. AND how many more buyers will actually do it.

Balance that with not enough information. If it only takes 5 minutes to teach and the learner gets frustrated and makes lots of mistakes, the $199 price is not reasonable. What's the perfect amount of information?

7. Now that you have all that . . . what is it called? AND when are we launching?

Hi Catherine. A very useful checklist.

I’m writing a book which at one time was about 70% complete but I keep adding ideas to it so it’s probably less than 50% now! I’m considering turning it into a course first, instead.
:-)
