The new year is here; in fact, half of January has gone already! Now you have been given an excellent opportunity to halt productivity and reflect on where your business is going. While productivity is key to success, and my last two posts have been about cracking procrastination, that doesn't mean you should always be busy.

Busy does not equal increased productivity. Doing the right actions and using your time wisely does, and putting in the necessary systems is crucial to yo your success, which is why, now might be a good time, to reflect on your past year. In terms of how well your actions served you, it's not too late to change course.

In my book, reflecting on your past inactions and your past actions is important. What did you fail to do last year? Last year I concentrated on product creation and neglected opportunities to increase lead generation. That is something I have to address now. I have two new websites that I haven't started an email list for.

Reflecting on the past year's wins, losses, challenges, and achievements can help you better plan for the new year and build a more sustainable business.

Reflecting on the past builds a more substantial business by:

  • Highlighting Your Strengths And Weaknesses
  • Reestablishing Goals And Developing New Ones
  • Identifying Your Truest And Deepest Desires
  • Releasing Guilt, Pressure And False Expectations
  • Improving Productivity And Performance

To truly reflect, you must ask yourself thought-provoking and open-ended questions. Be sure to answer honestly and provide every detail you can remember. The more honest and transparent you are, the more successful you will be this year. You can't expect improvement if you don't start with honesty and clarity.

Use the following questions to get you started:

  • What did you enjoy doing the last year? Can you do more of it, and why do you want to?
  • Were there any challenges along the way that you wish didn't happen or could have responded to better?
  • What is something new that you learned that changes you for the better?
  • What are you the most and least proud of, and why? What would you differently if you could?
  • Are you happy with how the year ended? Why or why not? What did you want to happen instead?

When answering these questions, don't allow other people's thoughts, opinions, or judgments to overshadow yours. To improve, you have to be true to yourself and your current abilities.

Now please schedule a time to answer these questions yourself. This way, you know exactly where you need to improve to have a more successful year. You can thank me later!

Hi, Catherine. Thank you for this post.

For me, the year 2020 is the worst year for many people, including my family as my husband until now he is stuck in another country at his work. I believe most of us have been forever changed by the year because of Coronavirus.

On the other side, it brings me a new thing, as I saw this WA on the web when I do my search. Because I need another extra profit to add ons to our daily expenses. I have become a WA member, I have done my OEC training, and my Website.

Plus, I have my amazing WA community. So, there are new things that happen in my life, and I am proud of them. And I believe I've done great! Moving forward-facing for the new life, new challenges for this year, 2021.

Thank you so much, Catherine.
Best wishes,

Joyce

Joyce Many families are separated because of this but nothing lasts forever

Thank you
Joyce:-)

Hi Catherine, reflecting on 2020 I think the world was turned upside down.
I think I lived the best I could. I hope I was able to help someone as I have been helped.
I hope I have the ability to make some major changes in my life in 2021.
I try not to deflect and face my challenges.

All the best,
Michael

Great advice, Catherine. Since I'm getting ready to move into a new home with my daughter and 2 grandchildren, life will be very different this year, indeed. I have a lot to think about and these questions may help reshape how my business productivity will be. Thanks for the great article.

Paula

Good luck with the move Paula it will give you both awesome possibilities

Thank you, Catherine, these questions are great. I have to think, so much happened last year. Many lives were lost because of this thing that happened I can't name it into existence. The year flew by. I know i have to do more this year.Catherine, you always come up with some awesome writings. I so appreciate your enthusiasm.
Best of 2021 for you and your business,
Miriam

Thank you, one of the reasons I am always enthusiastic is because it comes from within I don't let outside influences affect me

I have a short list of questions I apply to life generally about every 6 months. I am going to add a few of yours. The major question I have that isn't on your list is, "How did I affect the people I love?"

So very true and I am adding now
