Today i want to tell you about a simple tool I learned about in my mastermind group. More about that freebie tool below.

Kinda like a “Moby Dick” secret to profitable copy.
At the opening sentence of the American classic, Moby Dick is:
“Call me Ishmael”.
Short. Yet it works.
This is definitely one of the most remembered, iconic, opening address in any book ever.

The 3 words “call me Ishmael” bring about intimacy and is immediate.
In neuro-linguistic programming, we call that an “embedded command”. A most powerful persuasive thing.
Important in anything you do right now to get your stuff sold online today.
Having a call to action is like an embedded command. You probably see me starting a caption to an IGTV or FB live with “watch this video to learn”...
Note the first 3 words.
Or you may have seen me ending a video or a Facebook Live with something like:
All you have to do is click on that button below to grab it.
Powerful.
Try that yourself in your next email, social media post, video, tweet, etc.
Even better. There’s a simple tool (you can google it as “Hemmingway app”) that copywriters use.
When I run “Call me Ishmael” through the Hemmingway website it comes back and tells me it’s a grade 3 level.

Thank you for your very thought-provoking post and wise information. How does the Hemingway app compare with Grammarly? Incidentally, I have just cancelled my subscription with Grammerly as I wasn't using the paid features. I had a special discounted price for the first year, I can't justify the cost for the second year.
