Howdy, All Y'all, [uniquely special], Wealthy Affiliate members and the Wealthy Affiliate community; -"TheAbie - Selfishness vs. Selflessness."
.
I tend to lean more on the Selflessness side. I follow in the footsteps of my mother. My mother would have been proud.
.
And I know it goes a long way if you are a selfless person in business.
.
My endeavors are changing, and I feel I must become Selfishness person. And I must say I am finding it VERY challenging.
.
But I must make the shift and transition and choose my life. I mustn't accept any compromises.
.
I have NOT received support for my latest endeavors as I am going against the grain. But it is something I have long wanted it. And I know I can be ridiculously stubborn, for this is my life to live and not regret.
.
Time flies before my eyes; I must be sure I follow my heart. Waste no time unnecessarily, but undoubtedly follow my dreams.

Which are you? A selfish or selfless person. You also can be both!
.
Short, sweet, and right on point.)
Thoughts are welcome.
"Productivity is what I do. CTA is my middle name." - My Motto!

The problem with this dilemma for most people is that we are often brought up to think that one is 'good' (selfless) and the other is 'bad' (selfish).
In reality, one always has to live a life according to the needs and demands of the 'self' otherwise that life will be an unhappy and miserable one, trying to live the dreams and expectations of others.
What is important to note here though, is that as we climb up our own 'needs ladder' (for example, see "Maslow's hierarchy of needs", which starts of with basic needs such as food and shelter, and rises to more esoteric needs such as spirituality, what you realise is that to be truly happy and fulfilled, you need to help others, but that comes from a place of understanding the self first.
After all, we are all one consciousness and need to live according to our own life's purpose, but ultimately that is to help the whole consciousness grow and discover itself.

It is hard to go against the grain, especially if you have always been seen as a selfless person. But you can be a little selfish, too, as you said. You can be both. Being selfish does not mean you are hurting anyone.

Now about those strawberries... 😋

Best wishes,
Karin 😎

Always good to have that balance. I also tend to lean more on the selfless side, but I've had to be "selfish" lately to maintain inner peace and establish boundaries.

Also, the ones who don't support your endeavors? Pay them no mind and just keep living your best life 😊

I think it is important to be both. A balance must be struck. Too much selflessness and you wear yourself too thin, and people walk all over you or take advantage of you because you're "too nice".; they see you as passive, so don't really respect you a lot. It's hard to say "no". Just pure exhaustion.

But be too selfish, and all you see is the profit motive. You don't see people as people. You see them as cash registers, and don't add value to either your site or their lives, and it shows. You appear unyielding, and a regular horses a$$, if you pardon the typographical pun. It was intended, lol.

No, it's the balance, at least as I see it that gives not just profit but satisfaction at the end of the day because you served others, but also helped yourself. You don't see people as something to use or exploit, but as people, as friends, and partners in solving problems in yours and their niches, and they see you as having integrity in "drawing a line in the sand", and sticking to it, even when it's convenient. They may not agree, but they respect you for holding your position.

Have a great day, all!

Good explanation

I try to be selfless but can be stubborn at certain time and probably am selfish wich is usually not intended but nesasery I think.

I appreciate your feedback Todd; thank you. I hope you have a great week and that things looking good with your website and business.

Your Welcome and thanks for all the advice and guidance you have provided for me. Wish You the very best and you have a wonderful day 👌

Totally appreciated Todd thank you so much for your kind sentiments.

Sadly, I can be a little bit of both, most times, but I try to contain the selfish part!

Jeff

I hear you there, Jeff; I believe Selfish for a Good Cause is Good! Applying it can be difficult; that's in my case scenario. Appreciate the feedback as always; thank you. I hope you are having a great week.

I can certainly see your point, Abie! You are very welcome, and I hope that your week has been GREAT so far too!
