Howdy, All-Y'all, [uniquely-special], Wealthy Affiliate members and the Wealthy Affiliate community; - "TheAbie - Life Coaching: What's It About?"

In 2005, I graduated from a distance-learning university as a life coach, which was fantastic. Onward to continue learning corporate coaching.

I always have liked personal development. I felt natural at it to help individuals identify and achieve personal goals. When I listened, I could understand an individual situation, identify areas of improvement, and help them find the answers to their questions; most clients do know the answers, although sometimes these may not be obvious. From thereupon, they can set up realistic goals and develop strategies to meet them.

I help my clients make positive changes, such as improving relationships, managing stress, increasing confidence and self-esteem, and finding purpose and fulfillment.

So what is the connection between my clients and me? It is a professional engagement in which I help my clients identify their goals, help them achieve them, make decisions for themselves, and create action plans in which they are also accountable for pursuing their dreams.

Some coaches I know have specializations, such as career, health, relationships, spiritual growth, leadership, or time management.

During university days, we got taught techniques such as goal setting and positive reinforcement to motivate and support clients in achieving their goals. How to offer guidance and advice and encourage clients to take responsibility and ownership for their actions. For me, it felt like a natural and second nature.

Other help can include strategic planning, a tiny daily step to achieve a bigger goal. With clarity and perspective, soon, clients will be brimming with ideas. Creative solutions to overcome challenges. Self-awareness to identify core values, beliefs, and strengths. Best till last, help clients balance their personal and professional lives.

Why should clients reach out to coaches? They may need clarity and focus on identifying and overcoming personal roadblocks. Or improve their problem-solving skills, and develop better communication or interpersonal skills. Fast-track their achievements, and become self-aware and self-confident. Increase motivation and productivity. Learn to manage stress and emotions. Maximize their potential while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

What are my clients like? People seek honest answers to understand themselves more, indulge, take accountability, and perform more. Really anyone who is seeking guidance and support.

I admire you for helping others via your life coaching activities.
Personally I’ve never been a fan of being on the receiving end, probably because I have a LOT of self drive and motivation. And I think my teaching persona covers the coaching side of things anyway..
But hats off to you for providing the push to those who need it.,,,
Thanks
Stephen

That is a very profound comment, Stephen! Thank you. I have been busy helping; a late reply is better than never.

Teaching does a great deal; you care for your students and obviously want the best for them and as you have stated.

We all play different roles and have a purpose.

'A tiny daily step to achieve a bigger goal'

I'm with you Abie. It takes years to become our real selves and what we want to become - maybe a lifetime. It's not an over night job.

Just keep turning the dial up one notch at a time (0 - 100). Start off on zero and keep ramping it up until you reach 99. Reaching 100 is impossible and life would be dull if you did.

Paul

That is right, and I love how you elaborated on it.

Now every time I ramp it, I think of your statement. Yep, even if I ever reach 100, I want to go further. We can never stop, can we?

I think reaching the peak is easy but more complex and challenging to maintain - stay at the peak or thrust for higher altitudes.

Appreciate it, Paul; thank you.

Hi Abie

'I think reaching the peak is easy but more complex and challenging to maintain - stay at the peak or thrust for higher altitudes'

Very nicely put Abie.

Paul

PS ty for the choc's ;-)

Thank you, Paul! I appreciate it greatly.

You're welcome :)

Thank you for always being there! The struggle is real for many of us! Here I just did a 30 minute meditation video on motivation and positivity and fell asleep. Haha! Not sure if that is a good thing. But my mood is good!🤷🏼‍♀️

The mood is good; that's super awesome! You'll seek the day better. And if you fall asleep, it is good too! Your body may need it.

Appreciate the sharing, thank you.

This is true as my son and I have been fighting a nasty cold for the last week. But, we need some much needed 'good for the soul' family time. We always take our boy snowboarding on Tuesday's or Wednesday's but had to miss out last week. We shall heal up so we can hit the slopes again tomorrow. Ride time is food for our soul's! :)

Thanks again Albie! You rock and are an inspiration to so many!

Braeanne

Braeanne, that's awesome; you guys take great care and I hope speedy recovery.

The slopes are wonderful, even sleighs lol So much fun!

Can you please be my coach? Most days, I am demotivated.

Do you find yourself distracted or procrastinating?

And if that is it, try to set small achievable goals or break down larger tasks into more manageable pieces to make them seem less daunting. Taking breaks in between is crucial, doing things you most enjoy. This should help with refocusing and staying motivated.

That is sensible advice, but I still don't know where to start.

Few things you can do:

Set specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely goals.
Prioritize these tasks by importance and urgency.
Create a timeline to complete each task.
Track your progress and celebrate your successes.
Ask for help if needed.
Take regular breaks to rejuvenate yourself.
Reward yourself for completing tasks.

Let me know how you get on.

Terrific advice here.

Abie is looking after you.
Lula

Thanks, I try lol

All rounded great.
Lula

Yep, absolutely.

Yeah, Lula!

Very interesting, indeed, Abie! I guess a lot of my very good friends could be in a way, considered as "life coaches"!

Jeff

Thank you, Jeff! And I agree... I also have many mentors both here and outside. I believe all can be, one way or another.

Appreciate the feedback, thanks! Have a great week ahead.

Much appreciated, Abie!

You're welcome :)
