There's no perfect.
Don't wait; your plan will never be perfect.
Instead, start now as is, and you'd figure it out on the way. That's what I'll do.

We make mistakes, do the wrong things, say awful stuff, fall, get up, hopefully learn, and grow. We move on.

Hi, TheAbie,
In the beginning, starting with WA, I was eager to make money - I forgot the customer and that the customer always comes first.

I am updating all my old articles to make them customer-oriented.

I will only write new once when I update the old articles.

We are in for the learning, and we learn every day.

We are never too old to learn.

Elke

Well said Elke. You are spot on about forgetting about the customer. I heard a long time ago that the customer is NOT always right, but the customer is ALWAYS the customer. I too forgot the reason I wanted to be in this industry. Connecting with the audience, the customer, is what I really like. If we connect with the audience the money will come. Thank you Elke for the reminder.

Just as beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, perfect means different things to different people. - - - > Completely opinion-based.

As a born perfectionist, I had to learn that nothing ever is perfect, but that should not stop one from giving it your best shot.

Striving towards excellence is far more rewarding.

By the same token, imperfection it is not an excuse for sloppiness. While what we do may never be perfect for others or ourselves, I do believe the effort put into any project, is what will attest to our level of commitment, self-respect, and respect for others.

The best advice I ever received on this topic is this;
If it is not your responsibility, you are not entitled to voice an opinion, but that should not stop you from being a critical thinker, and formulating your own opinion.

Sometimes, we say it best by not saying anything at all...

Blessings
Johan

Well said Darutin, well said indeed.

Mistakes are always made because it is part of the Learning process. With out mistakes being made improvement will never happen, practice and Improvement brings You close to perfection but there will always be some kind of challenge. Professionals are always on the road to Improvement every day. The quest is to just keep Learning new skills to become a better Professional.
😎😀😀😎

Learning Is Cool !

Thanks, Abie,

I keep having to tell myself that, but it's taking longer than I want to, to stick. I have such a perfectionist issue with my "About Me" post in the OEC. It's frustrating in the second section, especially. Still, I'm thinking and writing about it.

Thank you for your feedback, maybe below can help?

You may write as many words | paragraphs as you like on your “About Me” post. I would elaborate as much as possible. This is the first contact your visitors have with your site, they want to know the founder, what's the site about, can they establish rapport and above all can they trust the site and is it content worthy and user experience friendly. What would be your USP (unique selling point) - Think of it when you walk in a store, what would you like to see and what would your first impression be. If it doesn't hold to your standards you'd leave, same with your about me page, if the visitor doesn't feel at ease, they will click away.

You can also promote WA on your About Me post if you were to choose your own interest / hobby niche. You may then include a paragraph middle of page or towards end, adding few features about the benefits of joining the WA platform and there you can hyperlink your own unique affiliate link which you can fetch via the $ sign top menu. I have also seen it as custom banners in relation to your niche that says, if you would like so and so niche blog that makes $100 or $1000 or more every month, and fund your blog, click here for free training.

You can customize however suits your blog and test what works and what doesn't.

Abie, thanks for the advice and tips. I found it really helpful. I'm not letting it stop me, lol.

No worries and most welcome! Also I am sure it won't - all the best to you going forward.

:D

Abie,

I got it! I finished the "About Me" post, and am relatively satisfied with it, so I can go on to the next lesson. :)

So true! I definitely had to pound this statement in my head over the years....just do it!!

Samonne I hope your MMO is coming along great, thank you for your feedback.

You're welcome, anytime. So far so good...

That's awesomeness and glad to hear it. All the best to you going forward.

Perfectionism stunts productivity

Great phrase Matt, thank you. I really loved your latest blog post.

Accurate answer Matt.

Totally.

Failing forward... the best path to success!
Cheers,
Suzanne

Nice Abie! I used to tell people in my younger years when they asked me what my name was, I said NOBODY. They were incredulous, and asked what possessed my parents to name me that, to which I responded, Nobody is PERECT!🤣

Happy Frisatsu!

Jeff

Great story Jeff and very true, we are nobody! Love it. Happy Frisatsu to you too! Appreciate you commenting.

You're very welcome, and since we are essentially all "Nobodies", that also means that we are ALL perfect in our own uniqueness!

Jeff

That's also amazing, inspiring, and holds true! Excellent feedback here, Jeff! Thanks :)

Cool!

Thank you, Abie!

Jeff

Much appreciated, Warren!

Most welcome!

So nicely said, Abie. Not easy to do but well worth trying. Aiming for perfect is exhausting. Have a nice weekend!

I used to be one of those folks that are perfectionists, now no more. I learned to let go. Appreciate your feedback Susan and I hope you are well and looking forward to a great weekend.
