Hi folks

So I directed a domain and hosted it with WA, however I would like to Url forward either a subdomain (shop . xyz . com) or an extension (xyz . com/shop) to a completely new website hosted elsewhere. How do I do that from WA? My current register had confirmed all modifications must be done from within WA..

My knowledge tells me I have to modify DNS records, the A and CNAME, so my question is where do I find these within WA.

Or else may be I have to totally point my entire domain to the new host. However, am not quite ready to do that yet.

Your thoughts and insights would be highly appreciated.

Update:

Was on way to ask support and I stumbled upon this link https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co... posted by ThomasPaul ; the solution to my current situation, concludes a temporary fix and the know how.

It would be advisable to totally transfer the domain to the new host, and start it there.. Or if started, buy a newer domain as when redirection occurs via the .htaccess method described in link above, you would lose what name subdomain extension name created once site redirected; so to speak won't be looking professional haha.

Thanks ThomasPaul for your video, I learned something new today and I appreciated you.

You are so very welcome. Am just reviewing my previous questions and updating as I go along.

Now things has slightly changed, you can redirect subdomain vs subfolders within site domains websites top menu. And even if you had it pointed to WA servers, you can still submit a ticket and they'll figure it out for you.

Am aware replying to this comment three years later, but late than never don't you agree.

Anyway I hope you are well and still enjoying. And your business and online journey great too. All the best wish you success.

It's a great reminder of the great resources which exist already here at WA.

Lol I just noticed I asked the same question 5 months ago..There were no readily solution then (above training added June 19).. I stumbled on the solution, starting out filling a support ticket -- must have triggered a tag, I could see CNAME in the headline of the post. However, I see your drift lol Good job, I did. I believe I also was running wee bit impatient.
