My annual membership expires in a few weeks and I won't be able to renew at the annual rate for a couple more weeks after that. What, if anything, will I lose during those couple of weeks?

Really useful question, I relate completely to your dilemma. But this question and the replies are helping me come to a decision about upgrading.

Even if you are cancelled you can still rejoin up to 30 days after cancellation.

You're good for 30 days at least. PM Kyle, he might even extend it a little more. He's cool like that.

It's my understanding that we have a 30 day grace period so your 2 week delay shouldn't be a problem.

Quoting advise from others, such as labman, et al.

". If you won't be keeping your WA premium membership and you have purchased a domain, you would have 30 days to transfer it to another host. So, if you don't go over those 30 days, I'm pretty sure it will still be here for you."

You have lots of good answers here.
We would pay 1 month and then pay yearly after that.
Good luck.

Hi Marion,
I can understand your situation as I am the same and I pay monthly. Here in Australia we are paying $63 aud per month. This is a high cost especially when you are starting out. I have other hosting that only costs me $12 per month, so I am not sure I will continue as it will be some time before I will receive a return.

Also I have just found out that WA does not allow plugins or themes which require security keys to activate and I have a number of those.
I guess we all have to look at our own situation and look at the positives and negatives and go with what suits.

You will get a months grace period before your websites are no longer visible. If you come back within the month, nothing is lost! Glyn

My question would go further, if you haven't made money from your blog should you look for somewhere to transfer your domain to?

I don't think she wants to move and sometimes it takes longer to make money as every member works at their own pace. So, you can't really point the finger at WA. :)

I am making money with affiliate marketing but my regular income is a disability pension and my personal, medical and household expenses don't give me a lot of extra cash. Sometimes it gets difficult.

@MarionBlack

Understandable and sometimes it takes longer until your work pays off enough to leave room for extras. Making money is one thing. Making enough to live from it is another thing which usually takes much more time. :)

You are so right. Thanks for weighing in Nicole.

Good subject. I was wondering the ins and outs about something like that. Thanks!

You will not loose anything at all if you pay a monthly membership (instead of a yearly one if this is more convenient for you momentarily) within four weeks. At least, this is what I remember from what Kyle told me when I was late paying my membership once.

I agree with the advice you are getting from several of the folks here at WA. Marion, you are an extremely important person to this community and I am sure Kyle and Carson will give you some slack. Keep me posted via PM with the outcome of any discussions you have with Kyle and/or Carson.

I agree with Robert, just pm Kyle and give him a heads up and maybe it can all just go smoothly then without any issues!

Sorry Marion! But in the world of a " beginner online marketer" who doesn't have financial issues? WA membership is not the only thing we need to pay, there too many other costs as you well know! I am sure that you will get some help, since you are such an asset to this community.

Hi Marion!

Sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. We have all been there. I think contacting Kyle is a great start. But perhaps you could go monthly ($47 per month) as opposed to a yearly membership. Don't forget when you are able to go yearly you are pro-rated which is very fair I think.

Nothing. You will get a grace period. But I would still advise you to PM Kyle or Carson and explain the situation. Perhaps they will delay your renewal for a month and charge you only one month or work something else out. So contact them to find out.

Hi Marion,
On a matter as important as this I would go to Kyle directly on a PM. There is a lot of speculation out here. If you are in the grace period, obviously you can pay one month....Dick
PS: If there is so much confusion here it seems we need an upgrade on the current explanation. You might also want to ask him the best play for Black Friday.

Wow - and here you are, newly knighted and all. Perhaps a PM to the powers that be is in order - with a quick blog to inform those of us among the unwashed masses of their response.

Fingers crossed - best of luck!

I think you have about 30 days and then your membership is cancelled but once you pay you get all your rights back. I would pm Kyle or Carson and just check

I have suffered same issue for monthly membership. Initially they gave me 10 to 11 grace days to submit my membership and red caution bar at the top. I couldn't able to pay during that period. After that period i was unable to access my account and i received a mail that you have thirty (30) days for your hosting otherwise your files will be deleted from server.

Luckily, I managed to pay my membership within 5 days.

I totally understand how difficult it would be. I suggest to temporary convert to monthly mode until you are comfortable to pay yearly again.

Seems to me that this would be an issue to take up with Kyle or Carson.
I'm convinced that you're not the first or only one to encounter a situation like this.

My subscription has failed multiple times. You do get a grace period where you can still access everything like live chat and your websites. During this grace period you have a red banner across the top of your WA membership area which says "opps - payment has failed click here to update your details" I believe they try 3 more times before you lose access (and even then, it seems to be only a matter of paying and you get everything back) Once I let it run over until I was locked out completely of live chat etc and once I paid I got everything back. This is my experience , however, as you have alot of content, this may be best to triple check with Kyle or Carson or admin :) Kyle also did a blog about what happens when you miss a payment, I will try to find it. :)

As per comments below, it is a great idea just to pay for 1 month , just to be sure :)

I'd bet there is a SMALL grace-period, but I don't know

I don't think you'd lose anything at all honestly. My subscription expired before and I was gone for 20+ days and the only thing I lost was my WA rank cause I would've been inactive obviously.

Your website is hosted for up to 30 days after your subscription ends so you may just want to remember the login details of your website since you won't be able to through WA for that time.

I hope this helps :).
