Hi folks, I've just bought a new domain from Godaddy and changed the name servers to WA. How will I know when it is being hosted here at WA?

Thanks peeps

After you have purchased your domain, you can go into SiteRubix, into Site Manager. Click on Site Domains at the top and you can enter your new domain in the Create Domain box. If it is there, it will show up in your domain list at the bottom. If it's not ready yet, just try again later.

One place to check is the "who.is" website. Enter your URL in their search bar and click the icon. Look for the settings on the new page that opens up in the left column toward the bottom. While you can expect a few hours of delay, the new DNS settings can come into effect quicker or slower than that. (Worst case, it can take 24-36 hours for the change to propagate.)

If the settings shown at the who.is site indicate the mywahosting addresses, you can try to create your site through WA's siterubix Site Manager. If the site is created successfully, WA is seeing the new settings. If not, you'll probably just need to give it a bit more time.

Nice one, Bob. Am still waiting for my new DNS settings to take effect. Once it does and it shows that WA's hosting it, will I be able to view my new URL when I do a search? Or is there more indexing to be done?

As soon as you have the site set up on WA's hosting, you (and the whole rest of the world) will be able to access your site using your domain's URL. Finding the site in google search, though, will take a bit of time.

I followed your advice and checked on "who.is". Status still pending, Bob. So this the part that takes time..... Lots of other tasks to do meanwhile, and that will keep me busy. :) Thanks again.

If the DNS hasn't changed within 24 hours, I'd suggest going back to your registrar account and double-checking that the new settings appear there. (Sometimes it's easy to miss hitting a "Save Changes" or similarly worded button.)
