Hello everyone,

Today I installed the "All-In-One WP Migration" plugin. The intention is to make a local copy of my website. I'm trying to export to a file, but at some point, I get the following error message "out of disk space" ??? (I still have 81 GB free on my laptop...)

Can someone help me?

I work with a MacBook Air.

The backup file is created on the server and only then downloaded to the destination you've chosen. It seems unlikely that the server would be running short of space so you'd need to contact Site Support.

I see that a .wpress file has now been created. But now I have to copy it to my laptop via FileZilla (or another FTP client). Now the question is what should I do next... I keep looking. Thanks for your response!

You can specify "File" as your destination and the software will provide the option to download the backup file to your computer automatically. Or you can use FileZilla to copy it.

What is it that you want to do next? Just keep the backup for insurance? Or restore it to somewhere?

I would actually like to be able to work offline on my website where I would try everything, such as changing the theme, trying other plugins, in short testing everything... All this without it having anything to do with my online website...

To do that, you need to stage your website. I believe WA offers that facility but I've never used it, so hopefully someone here can go through the process with you.

That sure sounds like a hosting issue, not your local computer. Have you opened up a support ticket?

Not yet, but I thought the file would end up on my laptop, why on the host? I want a full copy of my website on my laptop. Thanks for the quick response, Todd!

That plugin requires the same amount of open space as the size of your website. Imagine that it has to copy itself onto the host drive prior to moving itself onto your computer. The export will fail if the space doesn't exist on the host drive.
