I created a website to sell my wife's book. I am starting to get a lot of orders and expect the orders to increase substantially as she begins to get more media coverage.

Jetpack would enable Woocommerce to figure out accurate shipping costs based on Geolocation however, Wealthy Associates Support tells me WA does NOT interface well with Jetpack so support told me I should delete Jetpack.

My challenge is some customers are ordering multiple books at a time so I don't think it fair to charge them the flat rate x the # of books ordered when in reality I can put several books in one shipping box for much less. If I had Jetpack's ability to custom calculate the shipping costs I would not have to go back into Stripe and Paypal to manually issue partial refunds for the excess shipping our multiple book ordering customers were charged.

Also we have a number of International buyers wanting to order the book, but without some form of geolocation calculator I have no idea what to charge for International shipping. I have spoken to the Post Office about International flat rates, but trying to figure out all the rates for a number of countries and add them to the Woocommerce shipping settings is a bit complicated.

So at this point in time International customers are being rejected by Woocommerce because I only have the book only available for United States orders.

and just like domestic orders if an International customer orders multiple books the individual International flat rates would (in many cases) far exceed the cost of the book making it ridiculous for any International buyer to complete the order.

So all that being said does anyone know of a shipping calculator plugin that works well with both Woocommerce and the Wealthy Associates platform so I can somehow automate the shipping calculation process for both domestic and international customers?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Are you just selling a hard copy of the book and nothing digital?

Just a hard copy this year as it is a collectible and relevant to current events.

Each spring we will publish a new hard back collectible volume for a total of 8 volumes. The plan is to sell each new volume in hard back only then selling the prior year(s) volumes as both a hard back (at a discount) and as an e-book.

Okay, well that does make it more complicated then. Can you get a secured page just for the book? Than redirect people to that page. I see sites that do it all the time for each product they offer.

Not sure if my reply went through or not so excuse me if I already sent this.

I am not sure what you mean by a "secured page"? My website has SSL.

I only have the one product so I have a shop page, cart, checkout about and contact page included in the website.

Can you please explain what you mean by a "secured page" and how that will result in a geolocation and weight shipping calculator for domestic, international and multiple book orders?

Thanks!

Do you give a discount on ordering multiple books at a time. This should help you get around that problem.

I do not at this time. This is a higher end collectible book so that was not on our radar at this time.

I am not sure how to setup a discount for multiple orders in Woocommerce yet. Will take a look to see how it can be done and to figure out what kind of discount would be appropriate to offset the flat rate if feasible.

Thank you for the idea Jerry!
