So I must have out done myself today trying to reach out can connect with people, because When I try and connect with people via the activity dashboard, or my profile the message is denied.

Anybody else seen this, or am I getting special treatment.

Yes. there is a limit to how many new members you can welcome. They do this so the new members will not overwhelmed.
