Hi Support.

Just received the following:

Hi Paul,

We have responded to a ticket that you submitted on 2018-08-28 17:14:15 for domain theforensicaffiliate.com. Your original ticket message was:

"Hi, Carson. I need some help. As per the question, I am attempting to link to different sections on my site an then bring the reader back to where they started. Linking to another page is not a problem. Linking to and back on the same page is not a problem (example - index/Faq's). I know that this involves code and has to be entered into the text with an 'anchor' on the receiving end and direction (

Hey Paul,

Google searching "back button for wordpress" I was offered several different plugins in the search result that may be what you are looking for.

The original question you asked might have been better asking of in the community as SiteSupport really is meant for technical issues.

With all the emails/tickets that SiteSupport receives daily, I'm sure this was an oversight and not intended to upset you.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi, Trish.
By no means am I upset. I value everything that is offered here and completely understand the volume of tickets that site support receive.

It's just that I provided to support the html links that I was having a challenge with on my side, but the links were not visible on their end. Meaning...

It seems that any form of a link whether it is an " A href" or a direct www (https) will not show in the correspondence. This probably has to do with the 'No Spam' policy which I respect wholeheartedly.

Perhaps my 'hurdle' had to do with syntax structure of my links which they may have been able to resolve if they could see the html that I was using. No worries.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out. I will look into "back button for wordpress" and see if that will resolve what I am looking for.

Either way, I am learning more and more about html and enjoying the experience. I will eventually figure it out.

The thing is, Trish, I would like to be able to accomplish what I am trying to do without a plugin. But if that is going to be the way to go for right now, then that is what it will be.

I really appreciate and value your response.

Thank you, again.

Paul.

Hey Paul,

You MIGHT be able to accomplish this without a plugin, but it's a matter of "how much time have you got to spare on this" as it would take your learning CSS and installing a child theme and then creating code for your back option... and, when changes happen to WordPress (WP), then you would need to be prepared to update your script to that it works properly with any changes that happen with WP that could cause your script to no longer work properly.

Hope you will always feel free to ask help from the community with issues like this. We truly enjoy helping each other out as that is how many of us also get to learn something new.

You're so very welcome... wishing you a great and prosperous day. :-))

Hi, Trish.
I figured it out without the use of a plugin.

I was making syntax errors.

We learn by doing...'faciendo discimus.'

Thank you for your continued support.

So very true Paul, the best lessons I learned were from the mistakes I made. :-))

If you think others MIGHT be interested... maybe you should consider creating a tutorial... maybe? Just a thought...

Hi, Trish.
It has been placed on my list to do when I have gained the experience to create it in a non-confusing way.

There are a couple of tutorials on hyperlinking on the same page, and hyperlinking to another page or even another website.

What the tutorials are missing is a concise direction of how to link to a particular section of a page or post on the same website and back to the origin on that same site.

Looking back it, the whole concept of the existing tutorials were really good and were made very simple to execute. I thank those that contributed the insight.

What was missing was the clearly defined difference in syntax structure to execute what my little hurdle was all about.

All good, Trish.

I can really appreciate your 'Ambassadorship.'

Proud that our paths have crossed.

Respect and regards from Canada.

Hey Paul,

My response:
Not really as those are jump links and there are tutorials on those. Not everyone is aware of or needs jump links.

Many newbies can only take instructions in bite-sized pieces and using as simple an explanation as possible, else you will find that they do not understand... thus the simplicity of most tutorials.

We're in the same country too... I'm in the GTA of Ontario. :-))

Hi, Trish.
All Newbies including myself 'can only take instructions in bite-sized pieces and use as simple an explanation as possible,'

Let's see if we can put this to a closure.

In my opinion, this type of training (or any training) should be coming from Kyle and The Wealthy Affiliate.

It is my opinion (and my opinion only) that too much is taken for granted by Wealthy Affiliate by allowing others to provide education without it being validated first by Wealthy Affiliate.

I am 1000% for the 'Open Education Project' offered here and I promote it wholeheartedly.

Unfortunately, I think that this approach could become problematic because the training by members is not verified by Wealthy Affiliate.

Your thoughts are valued.

Aaaah.... but the member's training IS validated before credit is EVER received, and if the training is incorrect, I'm sure you would see it removed.

Not sure how that works.
Could you please elaborate further.
I have never done a training here and would like to learn more before doing one.

Not sure how you want me to elaborate on what I have already stated Paul ... other than that I have witnessed some training that was removed.

When you create great, useful training and enough members "Like" it you get credits for it. If that is what you are asking me to elaborate on, Marion Black already did... here: Hope this proves helpful.
