Hello WA-family, can someone help me ?

Maybe I'm very stupid but how can I add something to my blog?

I searched around everywhere but I couldn't find anything...

My homepage is a static page and all the comments should be sent to my page "Blog"...

But I want to start typing new articles in my blogroll... I just don't know how...

Thanks in advance !

you can turn off comments on a page or a post by using the quick edit function
if it is a page you want to turn off comments then click on pages in your site menu
and hover over the page on question- -click on quick edit and untick allow comments - then update
and no more comments on that page
the difference between pages and post are becoming less
the pages don't appear in your blog roll - can't be put into categries - can't have tags added and i think that is it.
but your comments should all go the the relevant post - if the comments are enabled...
have fun fishing....

Hi feigner,

First of all: thanks for your reply.

I've already experimented with "Quik Edit" and everything works perfectly. But since everyone is talking about adding articles to your blogroll to possibly get a higher ranking, I want to do that ... But how? I can't find a class or training or live event anywhere that can help me ... Am I really that stupid?

no... you are not stupid - it is all a new process
to add to your blog roll just keep adding content
click on your post menu and then add new
create your new post and publish
you have added another post to your blog roll
if you view your site it may not show - your browser maybe showing a saved copy of your site ....
so in this case view your site and then press ctrl+f5 and it will refresh and bypass your browsers cache...
targeting more low hanging keywords and writing articles of 1k words or more will help with your rankings
it may sound difficult - but if you talk at say 150 words per minute and can talk on the subject for 10 mins then you have a 1500 words post.....
your initial keywords ideally are the burning questions your niche has - brek the topic down into subtopics and if you have say 5 of these think of them as smaller posts so you are only writing 200 word posts and combining them....
good luck Peter

Ok, but I've already opened a new page called "Blog". It is the intention that visitors leave a comment on my homepage and that it is automatically forwarded to the "Blog" page. That is why I made a static page of my homepage and indicated that the messages should be forwarded to the blogroll on the page "Blog" ... This is the method that Jay also uses.

i'll have to watch what jay does...
so you have a blog roll called blog...
if you have comments open on your home page that is where they will be seen normally....
is it one of his live trainings that he shows this...

Yes, in the live event "CASE STUDY: Building Out Your Website Framework" at the time 00:28:00... But I finally found the solution... I couldn't write my "first article" on my blog... Now it's fixed... Thank you very much for your patience !

BTW : in that live event Jay is ONLY using pages.

Hi Peter, you can convert that existing static page back to a post to go in the blog roll and create a newer static one.

Creating posts adds to your blog roll.

I could do that, but I would rather work like Jay does. He wants to have his comments automatically delivered to his "Blog" page.

Blog page is your blog roll.

You go to Appearance -> Customize, Homepage Settings and then on your posts, choose Blog page.

You would have created an empty page under your Pages called blog

So yourdomain.com/blog
