Hi, I asked sitesupport to restore the version from the day before but am running into a huge amount of difficulties with what I thought was supposed to be a simple task - they went a few minutes back initially, then two days back, and they called the site 'temp', so it's now a different name, page speed insights pointing to 'hello world' not my pages, on and on. I was building a site for a client on siterubix and made the mistake of trying to change a theme in generate press, I didn't think recovering the day before would be such a nightmare...is this normal? I'm asked to switch off the coming soon plugin instead of using visit site, so many things...

I had a huge issue some weeks ago, and I cried help to site support, and their support was the best I have ever seen. They were brilliant.

I have used site support to bring back a site in the past, and it was seamless, but I am glad (not for you problems) that you have posted this.

I have considered switching GP themes before and have held off because I could not find anywhere that told me it would be ok to do so.

I am sorry for your problems, and hope you can get them sorted soon.

yes, I've had sites restored for other reasons in the past and never seen any of these problems that is why I wonder what is going on tonight and was I unlucky or is this the new norm somehow!

And yes, I too had always held off but a. partly reassured it would be seamless go back a day [ouch not so], and b. gp now have a feature that on one click undoes your theme choice so you can change but with a little bit of a warning it may not go well [!] I took the plunge...and there was no real safety net, a partial one that took all night and still leaves me confused as to what is going on!

Hi

I suggest regularly backing up sites going forward, you can use the AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended.

However, I'd follow with site support.

one of the selling points in here used to be ease of backup and restore, and that we were not supposed to need to do all those plugins...I could understand being super prepared like that if there was no promise of ease with these things!

Thank you for your notes, however, we always like to keep a copy of our sites with us in addition to site support.

We also mirror everything we do, so we always have an exact copy of data.

It is a preference, however my sincere apologies for your situation.

Usually Site Support is very responsive and super efficient.
