Hi Kyle, hope you’re having a cool weekend.

Just a thought I had this morning when contacting other members - would it be possible to add a country flag in the member’s profile so we can see where they are from?

I ask this because sometimes the profiles give location away, but sometimes not. It’s useful because some members can be 7 hours behind me in the UK and others 12 hours ahead. I can be online when they’re asleep and vice versa. It’s sometimes difficult keeping conversations ‘live’. Other good reasons too.

What do you think?

Dave.

Personally I know to ask the question and wait a while. And just because someone is in the same country as you does not mean that they are in the same time zone as you. And some WA affiliate members travel a bit.

I assume most WA members do their internal WA communications either at the start and/or end of their "WA time" otherwise they get nothing else done (and we are members to grow our affiliate marketing blogs and grow incomes).

Have you considered using Live Chat in WA? That may be closer to what you are looking for.

T’was just an idea to put out there. It came into my head so I asked the question. Should I not have asked the question? I may be wrong, but i’m getting that feeling from the replies. 😉

You are right to put the idea out there.

Everyone is different and may have different opinions.

I expressed mine and you expressed yours.

It seems it is not a question of whether it was a good idea, but rather whether I should have asked the question at all. 🤔

The geographic location (country) of people is important. They have their own cultures and customs which could be inadvertently offended just because we don’t know where they are. As well as interacting with people with a common goal, i’d like to respect their cultures and local ideals. I’m sure others would feel the same. Seems perfect sense to me, but obviously not others.

Oh well 😳

In my opinion, you were right to ask the question. I also said earlier that you were also right to put the idea out there.

Everyone sees things from their point of view.

Hi - I can't see that making much of a difference, to be honest. For example, you would have to be able to recognise every flag and know what the time difference is.

I think there’d be text attached to the flag. I know the majority of people are probably in North America or Canada, but it would help me immensely knowing which country other members were in and whether I should expect a reply to a message within an hour or just the next day. My geography is pretty good 😎

You should have sent Kyle a Private Message.
More chance of him reading that than your blog here.

I sent it as a PM, but linked the question to a classroom. Was this wrong?

No but the chances of Kyle reading every question that members ask him are pretty slim.

What do you think, as a Top 200 guy?

A lot of members like to remain incognito and the biggest majority don't even use their real name.
Your idea is sound enough but not likely to be implemented.

Interesting, thanks for your thoughts. Not asking for a street address, just a country 😂
