Or was there a typo in the email I received? Does anyone know? I sent a PM but never received a response.

Thanks for the question; I didn't realise there were some email domain name phishing scams doing the rounds at the moment but it stands to reason.

Hi Sipheni,

WA domain names auto renew one month pror to the expiry date.

This is pretty standard through out the industry.

Form the date of auto renewal we have 1 month approximately to manually renew a domain name before they expire.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains

Go here to check and renew.

Wealthy Affiliate will send you reminder notification emails regarding renewal.

If you receive emails from WA you can rest assured that they are legitimate.

To be on the safe side renew inside the platform, there are some email domain name phishing scams doing the rounds at the moment

Hope that helps you.

Thank you Alex. It hasn't expired and now that explains the 1 month window.

All good WA is generous in that they give that window, some registrars are quite padantic when it comes to renewal. How is your journey going, are you just getting back into it or continuing to build your presence?

I feel safe in their hands. And yes, I'm continuing to build my presence Alex 🙂. Including creating my own products which is something I'm currently working on.
And this platform is full of helpful people, information, and ideas.

Thanks Alex, I didn't know there are some email domain name phishing scams doing the rounds at the moment but then I haven't seen any myself. I'll be alert so thanks for the heads up.

The MO is that they comment on your post and its a domain name expiry notice, with a link that goes through to a site that offers to renew your domain by inputting your Credit card details.

The only trouble totally bogus.

They shouldn't. Be careful with emails, could be phishing!

Thanks, it's the email I received from Wealthy Affiliate though.

Still sometimes it can be bogus, I received SMS from what appears my mobile network saying they were unable to collect bill, scammers are getting clever by the day.

As Chrystopher said domain names are renewed in 1 year increments. So the email you received possibly false or it is a mistake from site support.

Better still check with who.is you'll see when will your domain expires.

Domain names are registered and renewed in 1 year increments. If you visit https://who.is and enter your domain name, you will see the current expiry date.

Thanks. It is about to expire and the reminder came from WA stating the expiry date after auto renewal as well. I guess there was typo then

If the domain name is about to expire, I would go and check SiteDomains that your Auto Renewal settings are correct and that your payment method is still valid. Any issues whatsoever, you can contact SiteSupport directly.

If it expires in a month, the email you've received might be very genuine. I would check with Site support. Have a great productive week.
