Thanks to everyone who reached out to help with my other Chrome problem.

Yesterday I deleted a plug in called "keyboard navigation" and can now use Chrome as my browser and write a blog directly into the WA blog window. (Before I couldn't add a comma into a blog post as the screen froze).

However, although I can write again, I can't upload an image. Screenshot below and I'm using Firefox to upload it -

The WA pop up blog window darkens, freezes and that's it. No upload, no other pop up box. Just what you see. Way out is to reload the screen. I'd a look in my Chrome extensions and I can't see what could be doing it.

I think you lot are going to start charging me soon if I post here again so quickly. :)

Thanks for any help.

Annie

I use firefox except when I want to work on my website. Then I use internet explorer 10. It's the only one that gives me visual when working on the website without me having to delete cookies etc. Only problem with internet explorer is it stops working every now and again.

Hi Christine. Crazy isn't it? Animate can't use IE for blogging at WA to upload images. She uses Firefox like me. I was starting to think it was an Aussie internet problem, as we are in the dark ages re speeds and type of connections. I see though that it's not as you are from RSA?

With firefox I have issues when working on my website, so I just take the route of least resistance and use IE! I am not that Technical an i am not inclined to spend hours trying to figure out what the issue is. I went to Chat asking and @ Rich recommended I clear cookies etc, but the following day I was back to square one.
At the end of the day I just want to accomplish what I need to do quickly.

That's what I've been doing Christine. I'd no idea the problem was so prevalent across different browsers. Find a way. any way, around it!

Annie, what version of Windows are you using?

I see in the Google support form there is an unresolved issue relating to uploading images.

The whole thread is a concern:

Thanks Jude, yes it is a bit of a problem and folks are not happy at all. A suggestion to use a new version called Canary is being given by one of the Chrome staff., but it is in the development stages and "can sometimes break down completely". Huh?! So why suggest it? I'll persevere for a while Jude and maybe end up clearing temp files or doing another re-install, if I feel like it (as if!).

On thing you might try is to visit this webpage below, then scroll down to the section
on Chrome, and follow the steps there.

If you see a Java-script error in the field, then go to the Google forum at the link I gave you in the earlier post and report the Java-script error.

Jude I have gone into my Chrome privacy/content settings and double checked that JavaScript is enabled to allowed to run on all sites. Shut down and restarted mu computer.I posted an AVG blog with an uploaded image in Chrome yesterday to check it out and it worked! I've always run a check with Winzip System Utilities Suite every week. I have no idea what the problem was, but I hope that is fixed.

After getting the AVG TuneUp yesterday, I did a full sweep of my computer and it is telling me that a driver is out of date and could be causing my computer to crash or run slow. But I can't find an updated one on the internet and Winzip checks my drivers weekly anyhow. I'm going to keep using Chrome for a while to ensure all problems re upload images are working. If they are not, I'll just go back to Firefox permanently. I've spent enough time chasing it. Thanks again for your help.

I assume you are using Windows? Even if you have set windows to update automatically, it won't update all drivers, just the ones it thinks are important. You have to ask it specifically to update ALL drivers - a better way to go.

Although this was written with Windows Vista in mind, the steps should be the same or similar with any windows program:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/update-driver-hardware-isnt-working-properly#update-driver-hardware-isnt-working-properly

However, if everything is working okay now, I wouldn't mess with it at this point. But if further problems recur, you might need to update your drivers.

I found the driver in question Jude via AVG. I "asked" windows to search for the latest driver for it and it told me I had it. Winzip Utilities Suite checks them weekly as well. So I'm not going to bother anymore. Like you write, better not to mess with it at the moment. I'm satisfied I got this far. Thanks again Jude.

Yeah been using it for most of 6 months, Tommy. Firefox hasn't been the same since around version 25. But I may have to stick to it if I can't get WA blogs done with Chrome. Anyhow, I'll wait for the cavalry to arrive and see if they can bail me out of this one. I vaguely see another re-install on the horizon - sigh!

It's cool I personally don't like chrome for some reason.

Hi Annie, I can't upload images, or even open my WA blog if I use my preferred browser 'Internet Explorer'. If I want to start a blog, I have to use Firefox (haven't tried any other browsers).

Like the stuff under the bonnet of my car, I don't ask 'why' or 'how', just do. ;o)

Pesky thing's aren't they? I've started on this path Mariette and I'm feeling stubborn as a mule (at the mo) that Chrome will work. I may end up having to do the re-install again that I've been dreading!
