If you have not submitted your website for review yet I would encourage you to do that. I have to be honest that I was reluctant because my newest creation is still very underdeveloped but it's good to get feedback. I realized this when a friend asked me to review their site (well done by the way); when a friend asked me to review their site and I shared my URL back. The feed back was super encouraging and also helpful. But honestly, when I realized I had to give feed back to get credits to exchange for feedback, I did not like it. But it is pretty painless and now I see the wisdom in it. Shoot I was having so much fun giving feed back and learning so much from viewing the work of others here that I almost forgot to submit my site for review. That I did finally do and I an anxious to hear back. Time will tell what a few others think.

Can we review your Website?
Have you reached that point in the training yet?

It is task #3 in this lesson here if you do not know how it works.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...

Try it. It works great! And you'll learn a lot. And -- if you're watching WA rank it will boost that too. IF you're concerned about that here. --- Give it a try.

Kind regards,

Carl

Hi Carl, yes the first time I was a bit anxious but after reviewing a few myself, I found that we were pretty much all still learning. All good at the end of the day :)

I agree with you Carl. Reviews and feedback are very helpful and we learn a lot by visiting websites built by WA'ers.
Best wishes from México.

At first I was dreading putting my site up for review as it wasn't "done" and I didn't want people to see it until I felt it was good enough to review. I try to be a perfectionist, which can be both a good and bad thing. I would suggest as soon as you have some content on your site put it up for review. If you wait until you think you are "done" you may find that you actually need to redo several things.

I actually found it helpful to get feedback and to look at other people's sites for design and layout ideas that I could use to make my site better. People here have created some amazing sites with great layout, design and content! It's a privilege to be able to review them and see how they can improve. In the process you might learn a few things too!

Good advice Carl.

It's all part of the incredible training here. Learn. Do. Observe. Discuss. It's all helpful. And I think as you said, doing it early in your learning, helps to get it as close to 'perfect' as possible the first time. Best wishes for lasting online success.

It is a great feature that I love to use and earn credits from.
Like you said, we learn a lot by reading and watching other people's works.

Hi, Carl. Are you per chance psychic?? How did you know that is the exact lesson I'm about to begin? I know, you can see it on my dashboard, but just had to hassle you a bit...as you get to know me, you'll discover that I have a playful side and enjoy teasing (good natured, of course!) people I like. So congratulate yourself, Carl, you have arrived in the "playful teasing" category!

Seriously, though, I do want to do this as soon as I finish my current lesson so I know how to do it. I know there are some things I want to tweak, but don't know how. I value other people's advice, suggestions, and opinions.

A couple weeks ago I was fussing about needing to change my "About Me" and "Privacy Policy" pages from posts to pages and got some very helpful advice from several people. I have been focusing on the lessons and have not yet incorporated their advice, so this will be the perfect time to get that housekeeping task finished.

I haven't watched the video yet, but assume that I'll be sending my website for critique as soon as I learn how to do it!

Wow! Same thoughts I was having. When I got to that point in the training where one of my tasks was to review other sites to get credits to submit mine I was begrudgingly doing it.

But what I didn’t realize is that in reviewing other’s sites, you learn lots of new ideas for yourself as well. Both for future website format ideas as well as niche ideas. It’s a win-win for sure!

Hello Carl, I have also given and received comments and feedback on my site and others. It does allow you the opportunity to see how the general public will view it once published. You can also access the Site Comment and Feedback by clicking on the Site Rubix button on the left and scroll down the pop up to those two sections.

I wondered if there was a shortcut to it. Thanks Harvey. You taught me something new today. :-)

It is my habit to go in there regularly and give feedback. The real reason I'm doing it is because, I am scouting for sites I can feature in my own blog for WA Bootcamp. My main blog is about turning passions into profits, so I am always on the look of potential topics.. how others are doing great with their own websites.

Hey that is a great source of connections. And I am sure the WAers you feature on your site appreciate it. Thanks Gomer for your comment and feedback. Later my friend.

Yes Carl, I too have done this and maybe should not have. I put my site out there for a look and feedback and found out it is too under developed. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate feedback but, I should have waited until it was in better shape. Back to the drawing board....

Some of the feedback I have received so far was not surprising. Need pictures. Run-on sentences with comma use rather than shorter sentences. Etc. I actually never intended to submit my site for review but to only do reviews as a daily habit. But I thought --- what the heck --- let's see what some will say. So far the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

What do you mean saying this? "Run-on sentences with comma use rather than shorter sentences".Best bloggers use both long and short sentences....:)

I think you will find a lot of people reluctant to do this me included and for obvious reasons too.

I'm sure it has benefits but I don't see any benefits when you see other members comments at the end of a post or review. It stands out clearly that these comments are not genuine they are comments that members feel obliged to make.

Valid point, I think.

I have not yet sought comments on my website but reviews here in the WA platform. I am not sure how I feel about getting comments except that asking it from people who express sincere appreciation for my niche and desire to help in this area.
Reply

Carl, it's just my own view and maybe right or wrong, who knows?
One that I will be sticking with.
Reply
verazhelvis Premium
And why do you think they can't be genuine?
Reply
wozzy Premium
Well, nobody is going to give you a bad comment, are they? Seriously I have read many members blogs and "to me" when I see comments from WA members just doesn't look right.

My own views that s all!

Just because we are part of a great training platform doesn't mean that everything that is taught to us is right, does it?

To me, genuine comments come from people who actually find your post/review who are searching on Google.

I am afraid you don't see the difference between comments and feedback. A comment is your reaction to the issue described in a post . It can't be negative in its essence. No, it can be , but referring to the problem, not to the maker of the site. Feedback-yes, it can be critical, but it is not seen to the outer world. It's about how the site is built, its contents, speed, etc.:)

It doesn't matter how you gloss over it feedback and comments amount to the same thing.

Here's something to consider though. The very next day after submitting my website for review and feedback, of which I got 3 reviews, my website was ranked with Google. So --- perhaps you do not want or value the feedback but the visits will be counted by Google. Not trying to change your mind but something to consider.

my about page and one other. But you may be right.

I need to earn some credits by reviewing other people's site and giving them comments. I need comments on my site. I could use a lot of comments on my site, but it will come and I will be happy for it. Often others notice things that we do not.
Reply
CarlJDill Premium
This post is really regarding reviews and feedback rather than getting comments. I am not sure yet how I feel about getting comments from members here versus getting organic comments from actual website visitors form the SEO work we do.
Reply
Armlemt Premium
One of Jay's training videos I watched yesterday says that comments, even from people here at WA, count as content as well as engagement and will increase your rank within Google. So the more comments from WA members that you get, the more it will drive traffic to your site, which will result in more organic comments.

You are right Carl, it give and take is the rule of the game and they are both the same coin. If you want to earn, you have to be ready to give. Thanks again
Reply
CarlJDill Premium
Agree. But my desire here is to give, and give, and give. I am overwhelmed really by the things that others give in like manner.

I am past the give and take, tit for tat, mindset. At least I try to be. However there is always that question of WIIFM (what's in it for me) but I try to not operate that way. Actually in many ways that is what my niche and website about.

You are right but the give and take don't necessarily mean you will get from the actual community but naturally, it will happen without you expecting it or even anticipating it. E

Hi Carl,
I'm at this point in training right now. I must say both giving and receiving feedback is a source of angst, fear and trepidation... but... I will do it any way.
The other week, I did a SiteComments not realizing it would need approval and then actually bee placed on the member's website. So... I totally blew that one. Sometimes, I learn the hard way. I felt bad that I wasted the other member's credit points.
Anyway, as unqualified as I fell, here goes!
