How do I do that? i am finding some of the content a distraction and not focused on building an online business.

Hi Lulu, When I don't want to be distracted by content blogs. I normally go to my Profile, there go to account settings and click on notifications. From there, you can turn on or off anything you don't want to see.
This will stop email blogs from downloading to your email and give you more time to work on your business.
When I have time, I often go to the WA platform and check what's going on in the blogs when I have time, in case there is something worth reading about.

When I click on folders cabinet it tells me that the Wealthy Affiliate is an online business platform and we pay subscription to the service. Am I correct? It is not a social networking site like Facebook and should not be. Why should I tolerate this content or distraction? So tell me Richard, what else can I do to resolve this?

You are right it's not a social site and you don't have to visit the blogs at all. Just ignore them.
The blogs serve a purpose. You will find that as you do this if you ever read blogs they contain loads of useful information. Personally i'm not sure how i'd have made it to 7 months without the blogs.
The members are able to share their success stories and struggles in their blogs.
We are able to encourage each other in this way.
The blogs also share information about how to do things based on our experiences.
There was a time when I wanted to stop that side of things too but it's because of the reasons listed above that I blog. So that people who come after me can learn.

As others have said, there is no simple way to avoid some of the social posts other than blocking or unfollowing.
Personally, I have got to know which current writers are primarily writing in a way that is not useful to me, so I simply delete notifications for those. I.E, I ignore them.
