My daughter is hoping to help her boyfriend's 14 year old daughter to open an account and learn affiliate marketing. He has given permission but we are unsure of what the best way to do this would be. We don't know how we should work it in terms of her age and becoming an affiliate for some companies, and also if she refers anyone to WA, how she would get paid as an affiliate. Someone has suggested that her father open a Paypal account and also apply to affiliate programs on her behalf but again, we would like to learn more about what other people have done and how they have managed it.

Thank you in advance for your comments

First of all, she cannot sign because of her age. Any contracts she wants to enter into it will always be your signature. but with the right guidance from you, everything will work properly.

Yep. She needs her father's help initially. Hence 100% trust both ways. As Raz says - better an Agreement in writing. My experience is that family members can turn weird! Hope not in your case, Ange, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks Barbara. That's exactly the reason why we are seeking advice. The last thing we want is for there to be any issues and it is so true what you say about families getting weird sometimes. We want to dot all the 'i's and cross all the 't's.

I think for a start, her father should open the account on her behalf. Prior to creating a paypal account or any money concerning issue, best that both parent and child have an agreement to have both of them monitoring the account until the parent feels its time for the child to manage on her own.
Good start for a 14 y.o. to get herself exposed to WA.
Just my opinion.
Hope that helps.

This is a great question. I think it is good advice to have her father do it on her behalf, but once all of the account information is setup, she can take it from there. I think it will be a great teaching tool for the 14 year old to learn early how to make money the right way on the internet. She will learn skills that she can carry on down the road.

Hi Steph. Thank you. Does this mean that he should open the account in his name and give her one of his free websites to work with or would it still be in her name?
