I am in the process of looking at partnering with some events with my site that may lead to 1000's of hits on a given day. Before committing partners / sponsors I need to be sure the WA infrastructure can handle the load.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing or know what effect it may have?

I can not afford for the website to run too slow or crash.

Looking at HostGator and other sources the average low number conservative estimate is about 30,000 hits/day
