Just a clarification as to what others do...after Icopy and paste my WA blog to the appropriate place, do I leave the content as unpublished or delete it from SiteContent. Is there as advantage to using SiteContent orgininally to create WA blogs? Thanks for commenting.

Hi Debbie! I also write my WA blog posts in Site Content first, and then paste them in the appropriate place.

The advantage I see is that I can browse and choose photos to include in my posts straight in Site Content, while writing in the "new blog" in WA requires me to upload a picture from my computer.

Also, the spelling and grammar checks (and word count) in Site Content are useful to me :)

After I paste and publish my WA blog on my profile, I keep the same post in Site Content in a bucket I created. These posts stay unpublished, but I can have a copy of my WA blogs in one place.

Happy and Prosperous New Year!

I have come to love Site Content. I thrive on the extra motivation of it tracking my word counts and goals. I also like the templates.

For my websites that are hosted by WA, I write the post on SiteContent, check the spelling and grammar. Then, I add pictures.

I publish by hitting the green button. I select the post option for most of the things I write. I only use pages for things like the Privacy Policy and Disclaimers.

After you publish, it will give you the option to edit in Wordpress. I pick that. I am taken to Wordpress. Once there, I will assign a catagory(s) to my post. I will also select which picture will be my featured image and add the alt tags and captions that I want.

Since I work off of an ipad, it is often easier for me to add links in Wordpress than it is on Site Content.

The only things that I am deleting from Site Content at this point are posts that I started writing and then changed my mind about.

I I hope this helps a little.

Thank you for your comments. It's always helpful to me to see what others do.

My way is as such...

I use Word to create my posts, simply because I can alter the font size and a lot of other stuff, which site-content doesn't allow you to do.

I will copy it once I have the post in a reasonable condition to site-content and publish almost straight away and do any modifications in WordPress.

When I am ready for images I then just open a blank site-content page and mess around with images in there and copy to my hard drive and upload to WordPress.

I find this way is much easier for me.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mick..that's basically is what I have been doing too. I was just trying to eliminate some steps. So SiteContent is basically useful to see your total word count and to get those images.....
Thanks for your time,
Debbie

I copy the post into site content just so I can keep a copy, even though I keep a copy in Word too..

When I find images that I think are suitable for the content I copy them to my hard drive on the laptop/pc in a folder with a name ORIGINAL, then if I need to change the image for whatever reason then I keep that in another folder.

For me to use Site-content as a writing tool a few things need to be changed or added to make it more flexible.

Like Patsy said, you have the option of publishing, then making any revisions in our back office through Site Rubix.

Here's what I like about using Site Content:

Unlike Site Rubix which will just show the word count for the post you're working on, Site Content gives you a total count of all your posts.

You can get images directly from Pixabay as opposed to retrieving them from another file.

You also have the option os using the templates, which already have the appropriate headers.

I still have issues with typing PM's even when I turn the Grammarly feature off; just today, I used Site Content to write a PM, then just did a cut and paste.

It took me a while to warm up to site Content (as in months) but now I love it!

It's taking me a while too but I'm trying to use it. Do you know if I use images in SiteContent, do they automatically save to the media library...or do I have to download them to my hard drive first. Thanks for answering.

They get saved in the media library.

Hi Debbie, at the top you will see the little 'Wheel' while you are in editor, just click on it and mark it as published.

I didn't know myself and just left them there, until I saw Kyle show someone to do this.

You can use SiteContent to write anything you want even WA blog post. Just copy them and paste where you want them.

Hi Patsy,
OK, I found it. So that is different than hitting the green box that says publish. In other words, it won't actually be published on my website correct. Is the advantage just to keep track of how much you write?

Thanks so much for the quick response!

Hi Debbie, you are welcome. I was out for a while and just getting back. It will be published to your website so make sure you are ready for that.

Some do publish there in SiteContent but you need to be ready to finish it off over in Wordpress since it's 'out there' live for the public.

I just prefer to write up the content first, then when I have the time I will transfer it to Wordpress and finish it off.

I only used WordPress at first, then tried SiteContent and like to just write up my content there. You can check the grammar there also. Then when I'm ready to finish it off, I copy and paste it to WordPress to do the rest of the work.

I don't use the images in SiteContent because I use the ones relevant to my niche from my merchants. SiteContent has 1 million images but NONE for mine which is funny seeing that my website is for women's and men's bags.

Be careful in SiteContent that your work doesn't get deleted and if it does, press Ctrl and z to get it back.

I may just go back to using Wordpress alone, but we'll see.

Well, I didn't wait for your response....my bad. I get so impatient once I decide to do something. But, I did what you said but it isn't published on my site. When I did that it didn't ask if it was a post or page so I just thought it was just a way to end that writing session. Do you think it's just a time lag thing? I know this is beginning stuff so I appreciate your time...just trying to take advantage of all the tools.....finally! Thanks.

Sorry it took me so long to respond earlier.

That's the thing Debbie, SiteContent was only meant for writing and that's it. Then others wanted images so Kyle and Carson added them.

Because I have never hit the 'publish' button I don't know what there is. I heard that it asks which website you want it to get published on and that's it.

Where are you in the lessons, are you starting from the beginning?

I know after SiteContent was added, Kyle replaced WordPress with it in the lessons. I only know how to use Wordpress for everything. I only use SiteContent to type it, then transfer it to WordPress. This is the problem. New members learn with SiteContent and not Wordpress so they are confused.

Maybe you need to refresh your website to see if it did get published. Let me know.

Hi Patsy,
Sorry for the delay.....I'm battling a cold and yesterday it won! Regarding training, I'm only at the beginning of bootcamp...my big goal for the new year is to get a niche site and get through all the certification training. But, back to my question, the article is not on my website. So I still believe there is a difference between publishing with "green button" verses the "wheel". Again, using the wheel doesn't allow you to choose whether its a post or page. But is that what you normally use.....where does it show up? I wish I could just call Kyle and ask him!!!!!!!!!

The wheel was to mark it as published IF you didn't want to do anything else for that article in SiteContent, but continue to finish it in edit over at WordPress.

How did I miss that? sorry...I didn't know you wanted to find where to choose if it's a post or page. There is a reason why it's not there.

It's because SiteContent is only supposed to be for writing then...taking it over to Wordpress in edit on a page or post to finish it off. When you take it to WordPress you choose page or post and continue.

I'm the same, with a cold and I have a huge headache right now. I'm not used to having headaches. It's so cold here -35C today and it was -39C yesterday and I had to go out!

I hope you get better soon.

Got it....I'm a little thick at times. I can relate to the headache.....all the sniffleing and coughing. The good news is that it's sunny and 72degrees! (Scottsdale, AZ)

Feel better soon, as well
