Hi all,

curious if anyone else is experiencing this. My tracked keyword rankings in Jaaxy has been stuck at 0 scans for 2 weeks now. It still says I have 0 scans until Ja

I had a similar issue not too long ago with that message and simply sent Kyle a Pm and it got fixed.

This is just a small bug in the system it happens once in a while.

Also, don't wait for the automatic scans as you can still check each post you have manually just by clicking the question mark in front of your post.

This can be done every day and whenever you want without affecting your scan search quota.

Andre

What are we talking about here?
I am confused with the terminology.
What's tracked keyword rankings?

Thanks

Tracked keyword ranking would have been an individual term it is the same as site ranking you find at the top when you go to Jaaxy to see where your posts are ranking that's all.

OK I thought that's what it was, but I have never used it because I thought that we were only allowed 100 searches total forever. So you are saying that we can use 100 each month? Right now ours says 100 searches left until Dec. 20 , 2020.

You can manually click your site ranking posts anytime you want the automatic scans are just that automatic, depending on what period you have selected, Daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly they are the setting for your automatic scans and that is when your quoted search takes affect.

I always have mine set to Monthly but as I said if I want to track where a certain post is especially a new one I just click that little Question mark in front of the post title and see if it has gone up or down or at times disappeared

IF you are using Jaaxy lite I can remember what the number is I have Enterprise but I never take much notice of the scans left I focus on looking for the keyword that ranks.

As this is not a site related issue, I don't think site support would help, however you may reach out to Kyle and leave him a message on their profile space.

Try empty browser cache, refresh and try again. Or open URL in a different browser or a mobile device.

Jaaxy is unlimited to premium members.

Hi all,

Something I can't seem to find much SEO info on is rewriting content and if it is better to just create a new page if you're starting from scratch or keeping the

Hey Devin,

I like some of the answers that you’ve gotten so far but the biggest thing you should look at is what is your ranking competition doing? Do a search and see what the top 3 product reviews look like compared to what yours looks like now prior to doing a rewrite.

This should let you know what you need to do:

If your competition’s product reviews are way more intense and informative than yours a new post might do better against them.

Then again if your competition’s posts are merely adding a little bit more information or results from using the product, then you have on your product review. Then you may just want to ramp up your existing content so that you are back up in the top ranking for that particular product review.

There is no exact answer to this question because there are so many variables that will make a huge difference in whichever path you take.

However, Marion’s comment does resonate with me, it would be a shame to throw away all the ranking juice the old article had, because adding another 100 to 200 strategically thought out words could make a huge difference for the existing blog.

Moreover, George’s 4 questions to ask yourself, present a logical approach to your question, but still leaves many variables open and not fully answered.

But I have to admit, that I personally not only favor Marion’s approach, but that is what I do in 95% of the posts that I update. I simply just add to the existing product review before I would go and just scrub all that hard work and start over.

Additionally, I would insert: “The latest update for this product review was revised on 01-01-2020” as the very first line of the product review. This lets those of your visitors that read the old review know this is an updated version of it, if that is what you are going to do.

I hope this helps you make up your mind on which way for you to go forward with,

Calvin

Thanks for the great response! I read Marion's tip a little different (feel free to chime in Marion!) in saying to rewrite the post on the existing URL as opposed to scrapping the page.

The current review pages don't look good, perform well or rank well. I know I can do better in just about every facet of the post. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to reinvent the wheel and delete the post. Most of the data points are still accurate. But the post layout, the way info is presented, etc can all be greatly improved on my review posts.

I'm sure many sentences/paragraphs will carry over, but many will be revised, scrapped, rewritten or new ones added. I've already tried adding a few hundred more words and it didn't do much. Maybe I didn't do a good enough job, but that's kind of my motivation for doing too good of a job on the re-do, if that makes sense. Adding 1-2 new paragraphs, rewriting the intro, adding a new link, rewriting the metadata and calling out that the post was updated did nothing for the posts unfortunately.

I also built these pages on an older theme and rebuilt them on a new theme when my new theme has waay better assets I could use for review pages, so it just makes sense to me to use those instead.

It is good to refresh your posts and add additional content.

Thanks!

If the URL is short and to the point (e.g. product-name-review) then revise the original. This will allow you to keep any comments that are relevant. And make sure that you mention somewhere shortly after the first paragraph that the post was updated on (date).

Good point Marion.

Thanks! Yeah, I keep the slug super simple so its just /product-review

I'm leaning towards re-writing the original review. If you look in Google Search Console you might be able to see what position the review is showing up at for different keywords. You can use those keywords to help improve your review.

Thanks! I think that seems to be what most are thinking as well. Appreciate the input!

When you edit old content, it tells Google that you are serious about keeping your content updated and revising it accordingly.

If anything, it will help you with your rankings. I have been studying this process of old content and what to do with it. Adding additional information to an old post is a clever SEO strategy. More people are doing this.

You can do your A/B testing and see how it fairs. I do it all the time. I have gotten some of my old posts indexed, I changed my KeyPhrase, added new keywords to my post. All I did.

Just saying, your site is lost as you said; it can only go up in rankings.

I hope this works out.

Joseph

Thanks for a great response.

Your welcome.

Thanks for the info! When you A/B test, you're saying you'll rewrite the content and test it against the old content?

Has anyone been getting threatening emails to their emails set up through WA? I've been getting essentially the same threatening ransom email to my WA emails for the last coupl

Because it is "webmail", a hosting based email account (not Gmail), it will get more spam. They certainly are not as good at managing spam and this is the out of the box email clients that are available within hosting.

Typically as you get more advanced, you will set up something like Gsuite and manage all of your business email within one centralized email account. We are going to make this process easy to do as we move forward through 2019, but this can be done at any time.

Gmail is by far the best email client in the world, not only for usability and features, but for spam detection.

Thanks for the insights Kyle! I've been looking into GSuite but the cost (though not crazy high) has kept me working on the free options.

Just in case, try using this plug in for your WA site.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-address-encoder/

Interesting to know I am not the only one.

I kept getting these emails a few days ago, one after the other, all to me website email addresses.

I get these on emails on accounts I've created from my WA domains as well as my main ISP email which is not WA related at all. I think it's random. The scammers are essentially scraping websites for emails and sending them to thousands of people in hopes that a few will fall for it and send bitcoin.
Best Regards,
Jim

It's nothing to do with WA itself - the spammers simply primarily target people who own their own domain names as most people who own their own domains either have lesser spam filtering or check their spam more frequently.

Yeah, I didn't think it was WA's fault, I was leaning more towards the mail client (Live, I think?) that WA uses for email. Interesting, though..

Yes, I have seen this a couple of days ago too You could ask what they have done

Thanks!

this has been reported a few weeks ago- didn't realise it was still around.
as you say delete- can you 'train' your email to sort it into the spam by sender?

The sender changes every time. That's how these spam emails work. They cloak the sender address.

Contact Site Support and see what they can do for you. I haven't had anything like that.

Do you also have the SiteProtect (Spam Blocker) activated here?

If not go to site manager then click details and scroll down and activate the green light.

here is an image of what it looks like

I just reached out to SiteSupport, thanks! And yes, I've had SiteProtect enabled since I launched my sites but thank you for that tip as well!

Great to hear, keep up updated with the results would love to know the cause especially that you already have the spam blocker in place as well.

Not here. Not yet, at least....

Hi!
Social media is important. To have a presence and ability to leverage some aspects of free traffic is great.
But I would limit the time I spend on social for a while. You will be much better to schedule 30 minutes or an hour for social and then leave and work on content.

MIKE

Thanks for the advice Mike! I don't spend too much time on social, in all honest. I am just looking to learn how to make better use of the time I do spend on social. Content creation takes of the vast majority of my time. Thanks again!

Here are a few links of training for social media here on WA: There are many more tutorials that you can access with the search bar, but hope these give you a start!
