Progressing steadily
I’m just about a month into the training now and since going premium appreciate the benefits of doing so. I think I spend far too much time interacting on WA and less time focusing on what I should be doing with my site. The trouble is I enjoy interacting and helping out where I can but it is often at the expense of delaying what I need to be getting on with.
So I decided, as from today that I will be taking a more balanced approach towards this and bearing in mind it is only when you become intentional that your actions bear fruit, this is the path I shall travel. I’ve had and continue to have a few hiccups with WordPress which I do not particularly enjoy using, although simplistic in the whole and intuitive enough I find it rather limiting and slow to work with. I started off ok with Site content but barely use it now as I have found despite saving some of my articles it doesn’t always show up properly in Site Manager Post’s section.
I rather write my articles in Word and import them into WordPress but that also has issues sometimes. Maybe I need to concentrate on learning WordPress a little better but I have limited bandwidth until my Fibre comes in later this month. I have installed a few extra Plugins which are okay but am savvy enough not to overload WordPress as this slows things down even more.
Well it is early days still and although I should have developed my site more by now I am happy enough to continue at my current pace as I am following the training step by step. I’m currently on Level 2 lesson 7 but because of my previous experience in writing sites I find my mind wandering ahead somewhat as a lot of this training regarding content, image placement, interactive elements etc. I learned years ago.
Approach this as a newbie I keep telling myself but it is a struggle to maintain that mind-set as previous experience is a constant reminder of how I use to do things which occasionally conflict with how I should be doing them now. OK, nose to the grindstone let’s get intentional!

Great post, Peter.
We all have that problem of spending to much time here on the platform, but it is so contagious.
Have you tried to use SiteContent. I found it to be excellent and when I publish from there I have to make only minor adjustments to my post. It transfers links and pictures without a problem.
All the best to you
Hennie
Hi Hennie,
yes I have worked with site content but I'm having problems with my external links working incorrectly. Don't know why though. The affiliate links I have for this post when pasted directly into the browser work perfectly well but when I create a link with the affiliate link embedded into some of my text on a post it accepts it OK but clicking on the link through my site takes me to a black blank page with gif 1 x 1 written on the tab so somethings not right. frustrating and likely to be easy to fix but haven't worked it out yet.
