Natural remedies for kennel cough?
It's been almost 4 months now since our furry child had dental surgery and teeth removed. About 3 weeks after she developed a weird cough. I didn't know what it was from at first and did some research. Most info I found online said it was from the breathing tube they need to insert down your dog's throat for anesthesia. I told her vet and after that began a frustrating cycle of expensive medications that didn't work. Her cough was not as prominent but it didn't go away. I spoke to her vet again and bursted out in tears because I was overwhelmed. When it rains it pours as they say and everything was dumping onto my head from every direction during those weeks. Especially financially and physically. On top of that fighting a great lack of sleep, I had just had enough.
The vet sympathized with me and gave me another prescription at no cost. Then again it was weeks of wasted time giving her more medication. She's not old but she's an older dog and I don't want to put her little body through more stress. It's already hard as it is to see her missing teeth. I really don't want to go back to her vet for them to misdiagnose and give her more meds or even worse suggest surgery. I refuse to go that route!
I have tried a few natural remedies like steaming oregano into the air. That didn't do much. Tried giving her grapefruit seed extract and honey and she threw that up.
After doing more research her symptoms line up exactly with kennel cough. If anyone knows a way to get rid of this and avoid more vet bills please let me know.

That's awful :( I'm sorry to hear that. It just so happens, there are several people here you can reach out to that are either vets, dog trainers or dog enthusiasts.
