Free Training Websites

One initiative here at WA is to create blogs with quality content. For that, we often need to learn about the various subjects. YouTube certainly has training on just about any subject. However, many of the videos have strings attached ($$$) in order to get more in depth information on a subject, or the videos are simply too basic. I am not bashing YouTube and it is one of the first resources I go to. It's just that it can be hit or miss.

There are other websites that you should take a look at to get access to free training. Here they are:

Udemy.com

While not every module is free, they offer many that are. Also, they frequently offer coupons and promotional deals for free or super low-cost modules. In most cases, if you wind up paying, the costs are pretty low on the modules.

KhanAcademy.org

While geared towards students, there are several modules across categories that may be relevant. If you wanted to brush up on history, grammar, etc., that is available. Perhaps you need some brushing up on statistics you can get that too. There are also other subjects on stocks and bonds and economics in general.

edx.org

This is a fairly newcomer to the training arena. But they offer free training on several topics. They are non profit so they may ask for donations on occasion. They also offer certificate programs that cost money but unless you are striving towards some curriculum it doesn't seem like you need to worry about this. They seem to update their offerings on a regular basis.

These probably aren't the only resources available, just the ones I am most familiar. They won't help everyone in every niche, but as they add more modules, you never know if it may be relevant to a niche that wasn't previously.

Enjoy!

You know what I like best about your blogs, Teddy Bear? They are always upbeat, informative, and sometimes downright funny. You combine motivation with valuable information. And I appreciate your work!!!

,Well, I like this blog too--so much so, I wrote Teddy Bear's note on this page. I've looked quickly at all three sites you listed here and find them fascinating and worth a closer look.

Thanks Jim. Another one is Coursera - it's similar to Udemy which I've used a lot. They often have really good deals too.

Thanks for sharing this helpful information, Jim.

I forgot to mention a big one, i.e., TED Talks. Sorry, my bad!
