Wrapping content around an Amazon text and image ad

Last Update: August 03, 2016

There are plenty of tutorials about wrapping content around an image in wordpress. However if you are an Amazon affiliate and use their text and image ads you may find that the usual method does not work. It can be very frustrating to have the blank space to the right of the Amazon ad.

Most of the time we (Jay and Glenda) simply pick an Amazon image that we can use from Amazon, insert it into our blog post and then link the image to the URL of our affiliate link.

Sometimes though you may want to use the HTML that Amazon gives you and with these the normal way of orienting your image right, center, or left will not work. I noticed that some of the members here are using those text plus images in their pages as well.

On my desktop I have a document saved that has a number of HTML hints, tips and tricks on it. I would suggest that each of you start your own document to help you with things like that. Here is an image of that section of my document as the code would not appear correctly if I just typed it here.:

To use that HTML of course you need to be in your text side of wordpress instead of visual. Look for the HTML code that you have just inserted in your page and insert that small bit of code into the proper spot as indicated and your image will align left with the content to the right. If you want your image to be on the right then use "alignright" in the code instead. hope that this helps someone.

Thank you, I don't have any affiliate links yet because my website is incomplete and not enough traffic. Saved your blog for the near future.

I'm afraid I can't see the image for the HTML that I need to paste in! I'm really interested though and thank you for such a helpful post! I was having trouble figuring it out and the flow of my posts were being completely thrown off by the affilliate link! bookmarking this post to see later if the picture is there :)
