Oh, dear Lisa. You might want to get your money back on one theme. See: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/everything-wordpress/covert-store-builder-do-not-buy-this-theme posted by Kyle. So sorry for the bad news. Hope the other one works for you. ^_~

Thanks caylynn! Hadn't seen it. I wanted to make it a site that I could donate proceeds to the spotlite foundation, the nonprofit horse rescue group run here where I live. They are very expensive and we don't have any financial help currently, Looks like the first donatrion from me wiull be the price of the theme when I get a refund!

Just a suggestion on non-profit set ups. I use Google website blogger, or link to your Wordpress website. Your funding targets are often local businesses, single proprietor and incorporated, especially good for your 'horse rescue group where you live'. Google sites are free, perfect for non-profit organizations and with the use of Google Drive you can share documents, flyers, diagrams, agenda notes, assignments in the cloud. Also I add the Chamber of Commerce listings to compare with local businesses who do not join. You can also set up each business with their own Google Business Page if they do not have one, who will greatly appreciate your service and opens the door even wider for their contribution to your cause. Lots of work, keeps you within Google to get everything done, with lots of fun doing it. Hope this helps. ^_~

thanks for offering that suggestion...Apparently I can install them with the zip files, but I can't activate them with my purchase ID. I get error messages. So I asked their support people and they were going to try to do it but came back with that message.

Funny you say that, I spent a couple of days trying to install a new theme before I realised I needed to unzip the theme! Doh!
Good luck, hope it all works out for you.

Great advice! I will act on it. I appreciate your taking the time to reply so thoughtfully and comprehensively!

You might have to install the themes via FileZilla.
There is a tutorial available here at WA through the search bar.

For those of you who have reached a level of success in IM ($), what advice can you give those of us who are getting paralyzed by trying to do too many things at once, thereby

Ok first, HORSES!!!!! Ok now that that is out of the way, I would say just like you can't choose the most "profitable" niche, because it is the person who can make it successful. There isn't going to be one strategy that is going to be create income the fastest. It is your time that you work at that strategy that is going to make it successful.

I would suggest stop trying to do to many things at once. Go through and build your website and focus on one strategy to get traffic. Then once you have that handled you can try a different strategy. Don't try all of them at once, just pick the one you like the best that you want to learn more of and go with it.

thank you guys for your opinions. I appreciate your time. i was kind of thinking local is fastest so maybe that would be a good place to start. i already have a couple of small businesses interested. i just don't feel confident about providing the services, but there is always outsourcing...

Difficult when you're first starting Lisa, because you have to learn to do everything yourself. Best advice I can give is do something you're really interested in first, then you'll be able to push through the inevitable barriers that crop up.

Saying which will make you money the fastest in my opinion is an unanswerable question way to many variables.

But I can tell you if you focus on just one thing you do increase your chances of earning quicker.

My best suggestion is out of the ones you mentioned choose the one excites you the most and jump in with both feet.

Cheers
Leo

Hey Lisa.

It's really hard to generalise, there's just so many variables. If I had to place a bet, then based on a year's worth of various feedback from other Members, "local" often proves the fastest, simply because someone could pay you tomorrow to build or update their website for them.

However, it's worth remembering that "local" is a hybrid, you're building both real-world and virtual businesses simultaneously with all that entails. I was discussing this with John earlier, and he blogged about viewing virtual as a real business here: http://internetbusinesstoolcenter.com/621-2

I've seen notable "local" successes, especially where Members have created *free* websites for local community groups, churches, friends and neighbours businesses to create an initial portfolio and then generated subsequent orders from that, gaining referrals and recommendations alongside handing out and leaving business cards wherever they go. I'm afraid all of this of course does rely on you not living in a remote village in the Outer Hebrides. :)

Jay covers every aspect of this in a wealth of detail in his training. Just type "local" into the search bar above.

Hope this is of some help.

I was really relieved that Kyle shared with us his Privacy Policy text for inclusion on our websites. Is there anywhere we can get similar legal text for things like Terms of Serv

I used www.freeprivacypolicy.com but not sure which one is actually better. you would need a lawyer to answer those questions.

I got mine online for free. they take you though a series of questions and anotate it depending on how you answer

Thanks ! That was a really fast answer! I appreciate your help.

Try http://www.freenetlaw.com/free-templates/ (you will need to leave a link in the page if you use these templates ... or http://www.generateprivacypolicy.com/.I believe there are a few others around as well.
