I want to focus on the niche of BDSM which doesnt necessarily have nudity but may have other explicit verbal content. Or may lead to affiliates with nudity/explicit content.

I'm not sure if it would be allowed here at WA. :You should direct message Kyle.

But as far as how good of a niche that is, I think it could be a very profitable niche.

Of course you can. I have written lots of content for a site exactly the same as you propose and there are many affiliate programs which work well with that niche.

I know Kyle is all about 'dominating your market', so I personally don't think he would mind.

And if you decide to call it 'Fifty Shades of WA', he might even sign up as a member...

Unfortunately that's not possible here. But you can learn everything inside WA about niche marketing, then apply this to your chosen website hosted elsewhere.

Great advice Wealthymagic

Nice taste of niche. But unfortunately, not here baby.

Baby? LOL

Right? Lol that's forbidden in my niche ha ha

Not if your site is hosted on WA. It's strictly against the TOS here. Each webhost has specific rules regarding adult media and what those definitions are, as well as country-specific legal issues.

I would start with looking at a host company's TOS to determine if they would work with you or not. For example, since HostGator operates out of the state of Texas, they require any adult site to be legal in the U.S. and the State of Texas. Regulations may vary from state to state.

Marcand thank you for your reply. So does that mean I cant build the site here if its hosted somewhere else? Sorry I'm very new. I feel like I need WA to learn the ropes before i can apply it somewhere else.

You can follow all of the lessons here (and I recommend it) but still build the site somewhere else. If you use SiteRubix or WA Hosting then you can't build an adult themed site using their servers/hosting.

Think of it kind of like an office building. This office building doesn't allow adult content. You can go next door to another office building and set up shop there if they allow adult content. But you can still use the training from the first office building to build your business.

Hope that makes sense. :)

If you just want to learn the ropes, make a site about something other than your adult niche to start with. Then, once you feel comfortable with the process, you can start another website on another hosting service using the training you learn here. Not everyone hosts all of their sites here on WA. ;)

Ok I understand now. However in the terms of service I did not find any stipulation about adult content though I'll take your word for it. I also read in a previous post that someone was hosting a site here for webcam girls so I was unsure. Thanks for all your time and feedback.

Well, to be honest, in reviewing the TOS just now, I don't see it either. It just says in paragraph 2.3 (vi) "use the Services only in accordance with applicable laws and government regulations;" ... but I do know that adult content is prohibited *inside* of WA, as in when we are blogging, as in number 12 of things that are prohibited from Kyle's rules for blogging here on WA;

12. Any in appropriate content (adult content, website URL's or related images)

Here's the thing, although BDSM is considered adult niche, it doesn't have to have any "sexually" explicit images or words. For example: financial domination. I dont need to write in blogs, I just need to be able to use the tools to build the site. So i think there may be a fine line between what i want to do and whats not allowed. I guess I will have to wait for Kyle to respond with a definite answer? :/

Heya,

There is a fine line for this one. I personally would host your BDSM site somewhere else and use the training here to learn the ropes (no pun intended, ok, twas fully intended lol)...

Love the niche BTW. Anything in the adult industry is very lucrative.

I do some SEO work for a couple adult sites.

Honestly, you can't do a site about BDSM without mentioning sexually explicit content.

Ha ha good one BeauAndNik (@ ropes)

BDSM goes further than the physical, sexual gratification. It can be a mental game too. So I would have to disagree

We can agree to disagree, but any discussion regarding BDSM is going to have sexually explicit content.

Generally when one goes we can agree to disagree you leave it there, not finish the sentence off with another jab of your opinion.

MoneyMagnet3 Huh? actually it's very possible because domination often does not even entail intercourse. For example financial domination, where's the sexual content? I'm very educated in this subject and I have to say that you are incorrect. Check out capitalisticblonde dot com and show me anywhere you find sexual content. Thx

Well put, Sarah.. prime example of why it's best to not stray to far from the herd..

So a tutorial on intricate rope bondage techniques has to somehow mention Sex??? Please before you post your opinion be informed of what you are talking about because clearly you are mistaken.

Thank you BeauAndNik I appreciate you backing me up on all points but I had to delete those comments, not because of you. When people are mistaken they often get really defensive and unpleasant. :(

I wondered where those posts went LOL.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I didnt ask for an opinion I need to know if its allowed or not but thanks anyway.

I as trying to be tactful but evidently you didn't recognize it so I'll be clearer.

NO IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

A straight shot is always better than a curved one! I have to admit, Jeff, your initial reply sounded like a hesitant opinion.
