How Many 7-Figure Earners Has Wealthy Affiliate Made?

I did a product review on a program that I know is sub par in comparison to Wealthy Affiliate. Despite it being not as good, one commentor responded to my review by saying "He's created 52 7-figure earners. How many has Wealthy Affiliate made?".

Since I also mentioned in the review that I create courses hosted at Wealthy Affiliate, he also questioned my credibility as a course creator and asked the question "How many success stories have your courses made?"

I could be totally intimidated by his questioning and walk away with my tail between my legs. Besides, I'm newer than this product developer and Wealthy Affiliate doesn't post how many 7-figure earners they've "made" on their website. I could walk away with lower confidence as if he "put me in my place", but will I back down though?

Absolutely not. I'm going to practice what I preached yesterday and "be more insistent".

I am certain this isn't the first or last time I will run into someone who will question my credibility or the credibility of my recommendations, so I need to face this head on.

The Problems

Now Wealthy Affiliate doesn't market their program based on how many 7-figure earners have started here, or based on financial results they've gotten for their students. I know (based on students writing their income success) that there are success stories up to 7-figures, but I'm not sure how many because I haven't seen Wealthy Affiliate (or anyone here) try to pull together metrics like this formally. Besides, Wealthy Affiliate has a huge advantage over many of their digital training program counterparts since this isn't simply a training platform.

This is a training, networking, and software-as-a-service business and they excel in each category. As a result, they don't have to sell by income reports of students because this platform can yield many more results for students than that like:

  • Improved Site Speed
  • Improved Content output or efficiency
  • Improved confidence
  • Larger social circle
  • More industry collaborations
  • etc.

Where others only offer digital training and must sell based on training results, Wealthy Affiliate has so much more. However, if they sold based on what's common in the MMO digital course industry, there would be student income reports all over the home page.

Instead, Wealthy Affiliate sells by demonstration and allows each individual to assess the value free of charge. The problem with this scenario is that someone was challenging my assessment that Wealthy Affiliate is the better option, and what do I say?

Should I Give a Passive Peacemaker Answer?

Immediately, my thoughts regressed back into my old habit of being a peace maker, and originally, I thought of a response I'd make in my peacemaker days like, "Well, if you prefer that option, then go for it", but I'm strengthening myself and focusing on being more insistent, so I've decided to respond to these types of situations differently.

Again, I know this won't be the first or the last time that I'm selling something and someone challenges my assessment that it's the best. I don't sell anything that I don't think is the best, so I need to be ready to stand up for what I believe and not back down. I need to practice what I wrote about a few days ago and be more insistent.

Objection Handling

I decided to share my thoughts on how to respond to objections, so if you run into anything like this, you're armed and ready. In sales, it's important to know common objections customers might have to buying your product or service, and to be ready to respond.

Affiliate marketing is truly the evolution of sales in my opinion, but we're a little more "fancy" and we use lots of computer and techy tools to reach much larger audiences than traditional salesmen would.

Unlike the traditional sales model, I'm not face-to-face with this person. Instead, they're writing their objection publicly, and this is common in affiliate marketing. Objections will be written in your comments on your blog, on your Youtube channel, and they may even email you!

If you want other comment readers to read your comments and walk away with confidence that you're promoting the best product as you've said in your video, podcast, or blog post, it's important to address these product and service objections tactfully--not emotionally.

Common Objections

As I'm getting more and more traffic and interacting with more people, I'm running into more objections. People say things like:

  • It's too expensive
  • I'm not sure I can do this
  • I wanted to learn an alternative business model
  • Can people really make money like this
  • Or, they question my credibility or the credibility of the products I recommend

This is normal and every business is bound to run into objections and excuses because people want to make sure they're making the right choice, they need their questions answered, and sometimes, they simply have challenges with making decisions.

How I Handle Objections Like These

I typically respond by:

  • Demonstrating that I understand the goals of the audience
  • Reiterating my stance on which product is best in the market
  • Demonstrating the market leadership of the product I recommend
  • Reiterating the benefits and features
  • Building their confidence (when it's a confidence related objection)
  • and remind the end user of the unique selling proposition

Going back to this specific scenario where the person is questioning Wealthy Affiliate's credibility and my credibility (based on how many 7-figure earners are created), that might look something like this...

"Great questions! Wealthy Affiliate has success stories up to 7 figures (and possibly beyond that). They don't do surveys where they ask people about their income, so the success that's public is based on what members volunteer. Income is usually seen as a personal topic, so many people choose to keep that to themselves, however, based on those who volunteer their information, we know the # of success stories there grows by the day!

These successes can be found by reading what students have written themselves (not what's facilitated by Wealthy Affiliate): on and off of the platform. The voluntary sharing of the students is viral and it's a stark contrast to what's written on someone's website (like what you're mentioning here).

To answer your questions about my courses...

The program was the best value in the industry prior to when I added courses, but with coaches there (like me) who add to what's offered and with the continual improvements being made to the software tools, the social networking functions, and the training, it just keeps getting better. There are literally thousands of hours of training on nearly every topic related to growing your traffic, growing your audience, solving problems, growing an online business, and more. It's immense. Thanks for sharing your opinions."

How do you think I did with handling that?

In Closing

I can assure you that if you decide to stick with this for the long haul, you'll run into objections, and possibly on many of your recommendations. People will object to the price, the location, the aesthetics, and the list can go on and on.

Recommend products and services you believe from your core are THE BEST, and be insistent that they're the best. If you decide to back down or be less insistent, it can give off the perception that your product or service isn't the best, you're intimidated, or you can't keep up with the competitive climate in the market. Mental toughness and emotional intelligence are key.

My Challenge to You

  • Stand up for what you believe
  • Don't be argumentative all the time, but be assertive regarding your boundaries
  • Say what you believe and believe what you say
  • Identify the best and stick to it
  • Commit and don't waver
  • Study Objection Handling and Emotional Intelligence, so you can practice handling situations where people challenge you or your recommendations without emotionally discharging

Mahatma Gandhi said,

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow, Learn as if you were to live forever”

I am very sure the money Gandhi made would have pale by comparison to the riches by this person you mentioned.

However, success is measured in more ways than just money. What else did we achieve on this journey to earn money? Or really there is nothing more to life than money?

You’re so right! I love that!

Excellent job in handling him. Some people are just overly aggressive.

Thanks. Yes I agree.

There's nothing wrong in always being wise as you are.

Thanks so much!

You wrote a great response that was thoughtful and showed you know what you're talking about.

The fact is that when programs advertise their worth by talking about things like how many millionaires they've made, I don't trust them. For one thing, there is no way to verify it, and no way to know what kind of money was spent achieving that income even if it's true.

It's kind of like my grandma when she went to the casino, she always talked about her jackpots, but never how much money she lost trying to win them!

A program needs to be evaluated by the features and value it offers, nothing else. The problem that many of those promoting these high priced systems have is they can't do that kind of comparison and have their program come out on top!

You’re story about your grandma is funny! Haha. I agree.

I looked at a couple of different plans before I found WA, purely by chance I watch a review by someone who wasn't even with WA.
He was very enthusiastic about the fact that you could try it for free and then there was only one upgrade at $49....
The other plans I looked at were all about the initial fee to find out what was on offer the all the upsell plans started about the only way to make money was to pay for the $$$$ upgrade and then the seminars to attend.
WA will do for me... I can learn at my own pace and build something to last.
Thanks for sharing this it is always good to know.

Best wishes
Gaz

I agree. There are alternatives, but I think WA is the best.

If I were some random reader who has read that question in your website, I would probably be not that interested in the commentor's claim of producing 52 7-figure earners. Like c'mon, I don't need a million bucks, I just need a full-time income on the Internet!

But even better, if I scroll down to your comments area and I see your very thorough comment explaining what Wealthy Affiliate is all about (and how it's not about bragging income results), it tells me that you know what you're talking about. It tells me that you're transparent unlike the guru who criticized you (but didn't elaborate his comment!)

As an outsider, I won't really care whether what you're saying is right or wrong. What matters is how you respond to the objection that will make me trust you even more.

In short Tiffany, you did a great job!

Thanks for sharing your perspective Dominic! I feel the same way , and I actually don't believe testimonials and claims like what this product developer put without verification. There are too many people trying to make themselves "look" good so they exaggerate saying things like "I've made 52 7-figure earners". I do wish WA did more to recognize all the success they help us make, but I'm glad they don't boast and make false claims like what's common in the industry.

This is great advice on handling objections in this arena. Thanks for sharing your insights.

You're welcome. Thanks for sharing your views on this.

Excellent response back to the questioners!! Thank you for sharing this. It is always best to handle this type of situation with integrity which you have done!

Thanks so much! I agree about the integrity factor. It would've been really easy to "make something up" to create a false sense that what I'm promoting is better, but that's definitely not a good long-term option. Great point!

I really enjoyed your article Domena. You showed what you knew without becoming emotional or aggressive. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and sometimes their insecurities are behind negative comments. If we take the time to understand where these people are coming from, we can direct them in a more positive direction.

Well done.

Lily 😊

I agree. Sometimes it could be hurt people hurting people. Other times, it could be legitimate. In this case, the course creator markets based on how many 7-figure earners he's created, so it raises a legit point.

If you want to be a 7-figure earner, you may want to learn from a system that's proven to accomplish that. The good thing is Wealthy Affiliate has 7-figure results and much more to show for itself than income results. I'm happy to stand behind the market leader.

It works best to come at them from a positive direction. Anything less could damage your brand and the company you're recommending.

Totally agree Domena.😊

Virtual High 5!

You did an awesome job. In past jobs I have had to explain benefits in person and also on the phone which both can lead to the other person becoming argumentative. That’s another type of situation that takes confidence and practice along with a strong belief mindset.
Here at wealthy Affiliate there are many such as yourself who handle the written comments terrific! Your answer to the question was right on.
One type of answer I used to give was a spoken or written Ben. Franklin close. A pro and con in columns which is great with product reviews of both physical or digital ones.
Awesome article that shows your confidence and growth since I have known you over a year.
Long comment but you encourage me every time I read or see one of your posts or trainings.
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks so much Bill! I'm glad you think I handled that situation well. It's tough to decide sometimes. I know the success ladder requires many of these types of situations while you're going up, so I'm trying to gain confidence and get better and better. Thanks for the comment.

You deserve it. Many I consider hard workers here at Wealthy Affiliate, and I recognize you as one. You are always willing to move forward in a strong confident way. Even if you are not you do not show it, and your sincerely shows in your actions as well. Possibly it is your armed services training combined with who you are as a leader.
Take care and have a blessed day.

Thanks. I recognize the impact of being in the military everyday. It changed my life and sharpened many aspects of my character. Thanks for noticing that and for the compliments.

I pray it affects in such a positive way for both my grandchildren who are in the Air Force presently. 👍 I appreciate all that have served for this great country!!

I hope so too!
