Day 5 of my 90-Day Youtube Challenge: A Re-Cap on 1 Week of Video Marketing

So, when I started my 90-day Youtube challenge, I said I would only publish on weekdays (because my kids are home on the weekends), but who knows, I might pull the camera out over the weekend. This is actually kinda fun. Haha.

When I started out on Monday, I was nervous about pursuing video marketing. It's not as easy to cover up your mistakes or to look like the "big guys" when you get on camera. People can smell authenticity and imperfections when they see you, so I felt that video was more vulnerable than the written word.

I try to be as authentic as possible with any content I create, but video seemed like I was letting people know me even more than the written word. I decided to shoot for authenticity over perfection because I know my skill level with video isn't in a position that I could try to outpace the other Youtube creators in terms of video quality.

My goal is to reach even more people than I was doing in the written word, so I decided to double down (to the best of my ability) and create one blog post, one email to my list, one post here, and one video. Today is the closest I've gotten to my original publishing goal. I was able to do one 1-hour video, one 3500+ word blog post, and my post here, and I'm happy with that outcome.

So far, I have 11 Youtube videos (because I published more than one some days), I emailed my list twice, I posted here every day, and I wrote one blog post this week!

I'm finding that I will probably perform better by batching content or doing several videos in one day and several blog posts in one day, rather than trying to switch gears and do one video and one blog post. I get too focused and excited about one or the other. Haha.

I had some hurdles this week with my computer shutting off and deleting my 1-hour video 3 times yesterday! I didn't let that get me down though. Instead, I did positive self-talk and implemented the resilient traits I've been honing for years. It was a test of my patience though, and I'm human so I did get frustrated. Life happens.

Overall, I'm happy with the progress I made this week. I'm happy that I've been able to encourage some of my fellow content creators to attempt this aggressive Youtube challenge, and I know by committing to continually creating content, we'll help people and in turn help ourselves.

1 week down, but I'm enjoying this career as a content creator so much, I'm excited to continue going forward. Thanks so much for all those who have liked, subscribed, or commented on my videos! I really appreciate each and every one of you.

Here is a recap of week one:

Have a great weekend! Hopefully, you're maxing out your potential.
