A New Personal Challenge - My First Youtube Live Event!

Last Update: February 26, 2020

On Friday, I'll be doing something a little different. I'll be hosting my first Youtube live.

I haven't done a Youtube Live before (where I expected people to come), but I think this could be a cool way to engage with people. I'd like to help more people to earn a steady $100/mo with affiliate marketing, and go from there, to help with more topics.

I've chatted with several of my referrals and I can see that:

  • Work ethic
  • Shiny object syndrome
  • Prioritization
  • Over-commitment to a multitude of things
  • Time management
  • Uncertainty
  • Lack of Confidence
  • Lack of Commitment
  • Unrealistic expectations
  • and Overall Confusion...

...Prevents quite a few people from getting their first $100, and from there, stabilizing the $100 per month. I'd like to have a conversation about that.

I know from my experience, it's easier to build confidence and improve clarity when you feel like you have access to someone who has achieved the goal you want to. I've made my first $100 and I make a steady $100+ every month (and more than that).

I know I can shoot to show many more goals, but I think this goal is so important to success in affiliate marketing because so many people never reach this point. They might set up a website and post a few times, but somewhere in between getting the website set up and making a consistent $100/mo is a huge drop off.

Lots of people never make it to that milestone. Often times, they think a milestone like $100 is small. They might be very focused on the $1000, $10k, or bigger, so they don't pay attention to the fundamentals you need to get there.

It's like trying to do multiplication before addition. You want to start somewhere. If you haven't made your first $100 or you are having sporadic $100 months, then I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  • What do you think holds you back from earning $100 consistently?
  • Is there a question you have that hasn't been answered or what?

When I started out I never thought I would be earning as much as I am month after month and year after year, but you have to be patient and gradually work up to earning an income month after month and sometimes you even have to change niches or affiliate programs

I agree. It builds incrementally; not all at once.

Cool,

You must feel like a celebrity, so how did you get started with these videos

Hahahah. No, not a Celeb. I feel more like a teacher. I got into it because I had been blogging for one year and wanted to amplify my traffic.

Video marketing is a very good way to improve your traffic to your blog, I have not gotten into video marketing at this time but one day I too might be a celebrity like you. Haha

Gr8 post!! I have never done it live either, how can I attend or have a link? live is always kool, like you said engaging with your followers.
I've not been working online too long now, is just about 5 years now, and I had laid off as well.
I started with Affiliate Marketing like most people did, but I was only building landing page sometime for products that just disappear.
I also made more than $100 online but not consistently as I needed.
Now I strongly Believe I'm in the right place and building a proper website with meaningful information and content vs landing pages.
Building the proper ground work for a successful business online.

Yours thoughts always seems meaningful to me, and would love to hear different strategies, and bullet points on how to make that consistent $100.

I don't think anything is actually holding me back, since the ground work I'm doing now will get me there, and I have to be patient.

Listening to aspiring entrepreneurs and following the right steps, certainly will get me there fast I know.
Your thoughts and tips will be highly appreciated.

I think what you'll be doing is awesome and I'd like to join you for your event. I think you're spot on about people overlooking the $100 goal. At this point my question is, what time are you planning your event? Jay does his live webinar Friday at 5 PM Pacific Time. I try to never miss that.

I sent out an email to my list asking what time would work best for them, and they said Friday at 4PM, so that's when I'll be doing it.

Traffic, no money for PPC, lack of confidence, procrastination, unsure what to write, dealing with bullies through website comments, scammers and spam bots appearing on your sites, and etc.

Wow Brenda. That sounds like a lot going on over there. As you know, traffic can come even if you don't have money for PPC. If you get PPC and you don't have everything set up well, then the money can quickly go down the drain. SEO is a great practicing ground.

I can totally understand procrastination and lack of confidence. I feel like I can help to some extent with that.

Have you chosen your niche? How are the scammers and spam bots preventing you from making money?

Yes, I have chosen my niche. In my Wordpress emails, I am getting a lot of spam bots and scammer emails, it's an annoying problem to go through this everyday to delete. Just a few content on there, that's why not making any money.

Also dealing with bullies coming through and about SiteComments. A long story my issues with SiteComments. I am not going to go there but I do feel its an hindrance for me to focus on building my site. I have a choice here too, to ignore that, and not let these bullies get to me.

Take my website hosting elsewhere is what I am thinking about now. At least I have that choice as well. Im hoping that will stop all these problems I have had for a year now.

Traffic as I understood it can be gained through social media and YouTube. I look forward to your YouTube challenge. That will be interesting to see.
