WordPress Gutenberg

So I published my first article since the new WordPress 5.0 update yesterday and have to say the editing process after creating my content in WA and publishing to WordPress was less than ideal.

I know I'm still learning the platform, but it took me the better part of three hours to get everything to display in the desired manner. Granted, some of that was nit-picky, but you know how it goes. Make changes >> Press Update >> View Post >> Realize More Changes Are Needed >> And so the cycle goes.

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a more seamless transition from content created in WA to the new WordPress Gutenberg editor, or whether, for the time being, we're better off sticking with the 'Classic Editor'. I do, however, like the features of the new editor in terms of how content is displayed alongside photos, how sections can be more evenly spaced out, etc.

That said, it was a tedious process essentially copy/pasting from the 'Classic Editor' block to the new blocks I was creating to achieve the desired format I was going for. It's clear, also, that Gutenberg still needs some fine-tuning in terms of its design responsiveness. I found the whole 'drag-and-drop' feature to be pretty much worthless in my experiments yesterday when attempting to duplicate blocks and then rearrange them.

Does anyone have any insights on improving the transition process? Or is anyone aware of any upcoming updates to the WA platform to work more fluidly with the Gutenberg editor?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Hi, TBALL, Wordpress 5.0 is problematic, friend. Last week I did not write any posts/pages. When I logged to my site yesterday, and updated to wordpress 5.0 as I did it on regular basis.
I then tried to update a post url, and went to "view site"when I test the link, it took me to "download dialog box"

I search online for solution, and I was advised to install "classic editor plugin". I have installed it and everything went well. Cheers

The new updates suck! But I guess we have to make the best out of the situation until Wordpress released new updates.
