Hi everyone,

so far all my post are in "blog". I did make categories but it would be better, from visitor's point of view, if there were categories (as pages) in the head

Good luck with some of the good information you received, Tatjana!

You cannot relocate the post from a blog roll, but you can add it to another blog roll (a category page or to multiple category pages). This is all easily done in the dashboard, first create the pages and then add them to the menu.

Yeah, I will. Thank you!

If you don't like the look of the category blog roll pages, you can use this plugin to add posts to a page

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-show-posts/

Ok, then I would switch one post in each category into page. But I can't change all the posts

I would like to have name of category in the header, and then to have posts there (as dropdown)

Not sure if I follow, but you do not have to change your posts to pages, that is not what I mentioned/suggested.

This might also help, just change the categories to suit your own website :-)

Hi you can place your categories in your primary menu, then edit posts to which category they belong to.

Go to Appearance --> Menus

i have one site display both. Categories and blog.

Thanks. That's great advice

You're so very welcome.

Following training, I made a page Affiliate Disclosure and it's in the main menu, plus I've placed it in the footer too. So, is there a reason to start any post with a snippet

No

No - as not every post needs to have a Disclosure?

Did you set up your Affiliate Disclosure page? If not go to Site Content, and select the template and choose the Affiliate Disclosure page. That's all you need for your disclosure, fill it out with your site information.

Yes I did. That's exactly why I'm asking this question, cause I thought that's it, it's always visible, as main menu stays on the top of the page, and I've also placed it in the footer. But, as I see post starting with a Disclosure, I asked

Great answers below, I learned a little more too!

I don't think it is necessary by law to have a disclosure within every article but some people like to do that. I have seen others add disclosure wording before each link but personally I think if I were to put a notice in the content I would maybe include it near the end or within the closing of the post.

You're right, even though it's truly repetitive, but I guess their point being in the fact that not many ppl read policies and disclosures in the main menu, so.... let's include a snippet on each post (oh G)

Hi Tajana,

Accordint to the FTP you should put it the nearest possible to your affiliate links, and clear and conspicuous.
You should have a disclaimer in your post content, in every post where you promote affiliate links.

Here is some training that will give you full insight. I know is a pain in the butt, but you risk losing commissions if you don;t do this.

I personally have my affiliate disclaimer in every post, right after the intro of the article and before the first sub-heading (because from then on there will be affiliate links)

You do not have to put a disclaimer in every affiliate link, unless when you been approved by a merchant they have explicitly required it.

In that case, have no choice, make it short and sweet but clear and visible. So it won;t bother your visitors, but at the same time it will be in place.

I hope this helps
Pablo

Thank you. I think it's unnecessary and repetitive, but .... okay, I'll do it (again, lol)

I am not sure if you using the classic or the blocks editor in WP.
I use the blocks editor and you can create reusable blocks. So I dont type this disclaimer every time.
Just an idea.
Pablo

Hey thanks, that's really helpful

Sure! Anytime.

You may write it end of the post, if your post contains affiliate links

According to the FTC, the end of the post is too late.

Thank you Marion

My mobile upload speed is quite bad. Solution - remove unused codes! Lovely, but how? Is there a plugin that can do that?

You can use a plugin called Asset Cleanup to remove unused css. You can find more information on it here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-asset-clean-up/

I found this article that may also be of interest: https://isotropic.co/the-best-wordpress-plugin-to-remove-unused-css-and-how-to-use-it/

Good luck, Shannon

Additional JS & CSS is typically added by plugins, so I would suggest removing plugins 1 by 1 & retesting as you go to see which ones are adding the additional scripts/JS.

Anything that has an "effect", such as a floating bar or social buttons will typically contain heavy JS... So that's always a good place to start.

Right. But I already removed some plugins.
Thank you for you answer

You know what's strange, my upload speeds were great until 3 days ago. Since then I was setting Google Analytics and Console following webinars and added code for Adsense. Suddenly, mob speed collapsed

Yeah that's additional JS... It will affect your score. But don't get too caught up on your score, you'll pull your hair out trying to get it perfect.

lol you're right
Thanks

I'm really struggling with it. When I enter html code in "text" option in the back office, while editing, I get (in "Visual") pic. ikon and text. Plus, there are great banners

Some are just affiliate links

look at this

Shop at MyHDiet.com Now

image, dimensions, border

Just copy it as a photograph. Much easier.

There are usually a couple of different links are you sure Ur using the right one.

have you tried previewing your page to see what you get - the visual does not always provide an accurate representative of what is there.
have fun
phil
just copying the image into a new tab you get the correct image for a product.

I published it. It was the same as in that screenshot I placed in the reply to Diane.

there maybe something with your theme then - i have just added it into a page in text mode and then changed to visual and it shows hte image....

Hi Phil - I have just sent Tatjana screenshots to show that it works correctly on my practice site too.

Possible. Eventhough I never faced that problem before, even when addingYouTube videos. Works like a charm.
Anyway, than you for trying,
Tanya

Diane (btw I'm Scorpio too - Novemb. :)
Thank you so much. You're always so kind and helpful.
Well, code is good, the procedure is correct (I do the same steps as when adding a YouTube video) but....I'll keep digging :(
Thanks again,
All the best
Tanya

Hi - actually, I'm not a Scorpio, my favourite rock band is the Scorpions!

I also wanted to add banner to my website too, you question is also something I encounter, many thanks.

You're having same problems? please reade what I wrote in repl to DianeK59

I'm not sure I understand. You enter the code in the text option and it shows when you go to visual? That is what it is supposed to do, so I might be misunderstanding (sorry!)
Can you please elaborate?

I copy HTML code for banner. Make a place on post, type e.g. "banner' and go to "Text' where I copy that link in highlighted "banner" I typed in. But going back on Visual I get pic/video icon and text link

And link includes video/pic +text but I don't get the pic/video

here is an example of html code

There's also an option for JavaScript Code and just URL

this is what I get in "Visual" mode

I have a bunch of posts that are not indexed. Yet, Google indexes my latest posts. Is there anything I can do about it?

This is a fast and easy way to get your post indexed.

1. If you haven't already, install the Site Kit by Google plugin.

2. Go to your Site Kit by Google in your WordPress dashboard.
a. Or just go directly to the Search Cnsole.

3. Click on Search Console

4. Click on the link on the upper right labeled, "See full stats in Search Console.

5. You are now in the Google Search Console

6. On the left menu you will see an item labeled "URL Inspection". Click on this link.

7. Copy & Paste your post URL in to the search bar then press Enter. This step will search for your post.

8. Click on the link, "Request Indexing"

9. A panel should show up informing you that, “Indexing Requested”

10. In about an hour, go to Google Search and type this in the search bar. Site:Yourdomainname.com and you should see your new indexed post along with all of your other indexed posts.

Big thank you for your kindness and all this effort.
Kudos to you!
All the best,
Tanya

hey hi Tatjana ... good question and all questions are good ones here ....

Suggest you might want to set up your Google Search Console if you haven't already .... Jay's webinars are awesome and here's one that you, hopefully, might find helpful for you.... All the best ... :)

That's very helpful. Thank you!
Best regards

*** Wonderful! ... happy to be of help ... cheerio ... 😊 .... ***

Go to Google search Console (you may need to set up an account). You can then follow their instructions to enter the URLs of your blogs for indexing. Jim

Thank you kindly.
All the best

1, Ask Google to index it in Google Console (under the inspection tool)
2. Link to them internally
3. Make some updates on them
4. Make sure they are on your sitemap

Those are a few things you can do

Great suggestions! I sure will. Thank you!
