Good Morning Denise,

When I look back at these past years I am amazed.
I got a computer end of 2013, I did not want one as I was quite happy writing letters on paper.
Having a computer I started to follow summits and workshops on subjects I was interested in. For the rest, I used my computer for emails and photos.
In Jan. 2017 I started with 2 websites writing about things which interest/worry me. I never liked the technical part of it and still don't.
Still, now I am able to write a post, put photos, links, videos, the different Hs and all one needs before publishing.
I have learned so much especially in the technical field, who would have thought that.
I suppose the main thing is not to give up but I have to admit there were times I wanted to throw the computer out of the window.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hello Denise,
That is a good question. Just yesterday, I had someone I met here at WA leaving. In her case, it was for financial reasons. She could not afford the premium anymore. Many are in that situation and I find it sad. Others after a while (6+ months) with nothing moving the way they expected, meaning not making money, they get discouraged and stop pushing.
If you do not come with the right mindset; if you are not ready to wait until it works then this is not for you. So many give up right inches from succeeding. Been here since July; haven't done much to actually market my website, only focusing on pushing more content out there as I have an important message I want to share. If I can make some cash in the process, it's even better.
Thanks for bringing this up.

Pascal

Very good approach. You need to help first before you make money. If you can figure out the pain points of your target group and help solve the problem, then you are leading in the right direction.

I have only been here for a couple of months. But people fail at WA or different things for different reasons.

Maybe lack of commitment. Family matters, maybe lazy is one. People are all different and have different reasons for failure. Some just give up for one reason or other.

That is my opinion, no one reason.

Pete

Family problems and health can definitely slow one down

It comes down to attitude!

Hi Denise.

During my time in business there is one thing I have learned.
People will always find a way to not to be involved in business. Simply because their life has been too straight forward.

Someone who have been at the rock bottom will have a higher chance for success, than someone who has lived without struggle.

For your question, I say WA is not for everyone. People who fail in WA is quitters. They try it, but don't care.

Øystein

You're right. Those who really want will make it work.

That really comes down what you consider as failing or winning.

What are your starter goals and what are you trying to achieve. If you are trying to achieve a full income from this and you only spend 1 day in the week on your business, the chances that you will fail is big. Or at least you won't make it until many years later at best.

If your goal is to get this going and see how it works out and maybe earn a couple of bucks than I am absolutely sure that you will get there, sooner or later.

As soon as you have seen what it can do and that it can work, you will get even more motivated to really invest time into it and get it properly up and running.

The real deal breaker is in the keeping on going to keep on publishing lots of quality content with keywords in mind on a consistent way.

The success story is in the ones that go the extra mile by posting 3-7 times a week on a set time schedule (for example 8pm every day), use social media and all sorts of strategies for promotion and finding more content to write about.

Applying what you learn here is definitely important.

Steven

Well said Steven

I am not a beginner I've written websites before, so doing the lessons from the beginning may be a waste of time. I need to get onto the internet with my business like yesterday. What I don;t know is what I want to sell. 2. How to get the ranking of my website with the search engines. 3.how to get customers. These are the things I know I need from WA, but I am sure there are more lessons needed.

I see your point. People join Wealthy Affiliate with different levels of internet marketing skills so the lessons should be personalized some what.

Hi Denise,

This would have made a really good blog post.

A few answers comes to mind and that is that some people give up too easily.

Then start building a really good website, then realise that they have to write content.

They write a few good content and get excited waiting for the traffic that does not come.

Then they stop and go back to the nine to five and make their boss richer.

The other side is that some people see the opportunity and straight away think there must be a catch.

Nothing you can do with that type of thinking but move onto the next person.

Like I mentioned before you should have written this as a blog because it would have gotten a lot more conversation going.

This is a really good subject matter

Wishing you all the best
Jennifer

The part about writing content almost got me to quit. It was not until I started treating it as a conversation with a friend that I started enjoying it.

I really can't blame people for thinking that there must be a catch. Just today, I went online and typed the keyword "work from home jobs" just for research.

I was alarmed at the number of make money quick ads that pop up. If someone falls for one or two of those, they will probably think Wealthy affiliate is like that too.

You are right, this should have been a blog. I think it auto classified as post and I did not notice.

Yes you are right about the amount of ad and articles on making money online.

This is why you have to approach it from a different angle.

Content creating is no joke. If you heart is not in it then it will be hard to make it.

have a wonderful week

I have plenty of people that just plain don't like writing.

And this business model is all writing.

That was me two years ago. Did not want anything that required writing. If I can change, then other people can try too, especially when your financial freedom depends on it.

well, unless you prefer video, I suppose you could apply the same concepts to video. YouTube videos that is.

You may want to join the Google Adwords Community: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Google-AdWords/ct-p/Google_AdWords and ask for help there.

Seems others have had different types of issues with the Adwords script but I could not find "Google Adwords tracking code causes Invalid Code prompt" (without the quotation marks, of course) specifically.

Hello Tammi, I must say that, Wealthy affiliate is growing in leaps and bounds. The credit or ranking system is still in place, and there has been some small changes in it.

Yes, there is a credit system still in place. There is a dashboard link where you can check your credits.

This should be independent of ranking. It is based on creativity in trainings and participation elements!

Hi,
How often does WA approve credits. I have written some lessons which are midway through the 20 credit level but the prior level credit has not been approved yet. I'm curious as to what the procedure is.

I don't know a ton on the topic but I know the more people I help on here, my rank goes up and it possibly has to do with the frequency of likes for each comment I make.

I also know for every unique and original comment I make within the "request site comment" section, I gain a credit.

Lastly, I "believe" if you make really great trainings you get a good amount of credits based on the community's response.

Hope this helps.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the info.

I have been avoiding to fill my tax information on the amazon affiliate site for so long because I do not know what kind of federal tax classification to chose as an affiliate.

Hi, Denise, the people here can let you know what they do but I think with taxes you need to get professional help from an accountant. All the best to you.
Ann

I personally would consult with an accountant, each State and Country has different guidelines so this is a difficult question to answer.

Small Biz Guy is right go with the sole proprietor. Easy and all you file is a schedule C

Thanks Stan

Unless you have actually registered a business, you would be a sole proprietor. Most people register like this and use their SS# as the tax ID.

Thanks a bunch. You just made my day.

WA may not be the best place for tax advice

Ok thanks

Have a chat with your tax consultant on this. Their advice will be precise.

Hello WA and happy new year 2017!

I know that people do not usually sign up for WA the first time they hear about it. Some people read about it in many different places

According to my understanding it's the last website that the person goes to that will get the credit.

Hmmm interesting! I think you are right!

Yeah, I believe that is the way it works.

The first affiliate link that they click is the one that counts and unless their cookies are cleared it lasts for 1 year Denise, Does this help answer your question my Friend?

Absolutely Tony. Thanks

You are welcome Denise, It's my pleasure to help Friends my Friend.

Tony, are you sure? I thought it was the last cookie wins here as it is at most affiliate programs.

Hey Tony, Marion is right, according to Kyle, it is the last WA affiliate link that will get the credit and sale,WA has a lifetime cookies, see below post :

Thank you Marion, I guess that I have been wrong all of this time.

Thank you for sharing that link Jewel, It does show Kyle saying that the last referral link clicked before joining is the one. I thought that it was the opposite.

I like the thought of the life time cookie but it is no good if another member takes the last cookie from the jar.

Thanks for the correction Marion
