Shopping and my New Desk
Yesterday was big day in furniture thrift shopping for me. I went out looking for a desk and chair and ended up buying two desks.I also ended up buying an array of miscellaneous treasures. It turned out to be half off day..
Despite doing this blog and my wandering down the thrift aisle of one mans junk is another ones treasure, I have a conflicted relationship with buying stuff, particularly big stuff...
My upbringing has left me with the mindset that if anything costs more than,hmmm, $20, it's too expensive. Of course, I do regularly buy things that cost more than $20, (the desk, for the record, cost more than $20) but there's always a voice in the back of my head telling me I'm spending too much.
And there are all kinds of reasons to feel good about this purchase.
- Yay, new desk! Its kind of an odd green, yellow but I look past the colour and see the beauty. I'm saving the world.no waste, .and a desk who was banished to a dusty dark corner...yeh!!!
Next stop..save a few gallons of paint...hehe
