It is a competitive niche because the money is there. Pet industry is in billions. You just need to segment a little more to find a niche that is uniquely you.
Hello,
I say that you and your pooch go for it. I look forward to hearing how you get on.
If it helps I thought the same initially about my Niche, gardening, it is massively competitive, with TV gurus, magazines etc that all have BIG name websites but I have persevered, added great content to my website and lo and behold my posts are ranking up there with the big guys.
So, saturated? No, quality websites? Yes definitely. You can make a quality website too.
Question = "Who says it is a saturated market?
Answer " Those that Can't rank"
Answer to the problem of a saturated market, in my opinion, is the fact that all markets with a profit are saturated. The answer to that is to do your keyword research and then REALLY REALLY REALLY understand the problems in your niche. The problems are the questions your readers or later your potential customers want to be answered. Then write to that. Granted you may need a hundred articles to get traction if you are passionate about it 100,000 words should not be a problem
Conclusion go for it because you have all the tools here nd the community to help when needed
