One Site, Two Site

So when I joined, I created my first free siterubix website. It wasn't very good and it had no content. Within a few days I realised I wanted my own domain so I went ahead and purchased one and started to build a site around it.

Several re designs and theme changes later and I was finally satisfied with the way it looked and focussed on adding content.

Now that site has 30 odd posts but is horrifically slow to load, it's over encumbered with plugins and I've probably ruined it. It'll take some work to get it back on track again.

The trouble is, I can't be bothered with it.

I started a new site, initially about men's fashion. This quickly changed to something I can actually talk about - recruitment. I'm now writing posts on this new site about interview tips, writing CVs, applying for jobs online and so on.

I've lost the passion for site number one.

The big concern...

How many times will this happen? How many sites will I build to 30 posts and then stop?

Does this happen to many of you in the community? How do you power through it?

Your thoughts and advice are appreciated.

I have two sites. One Site Rubix that I am planning to move to a domain of my own and one on my own domain. They each have different purpose so I think that's fine for me.

My little advice to you is that you should put in the energy to work on each site you have created to bring them to a fine finish. Abandoning your site is like leaving an unfinished building and you go start building a new one. Whenever you look at that unfinished building you feel like you have wasted resources on it. View your website in that way and you will be zealous to repair and correct the construction errors and make improvements to its design.

30 posts is huge you can't leave it to deteriorate. Better so you can put it up for sale :=)

I had read a post or training or an answered question which talks about switching off plugins to enable speed. The contributor said he switches on these plugins only when he needs to use them. You may want to search that out .

Gifty.

You just have to make the commitment to put the time and dedication into your sites. If you aren't dedicated to this, you will probably have this happen many times.. Make sure that you are happy with the performance of your site(s) before taking on a new one. It is ok to have a working site and one in progress, but you should be giving equal time to both in order to complete your dreams.
