Set Your Sail And Hang On

I read this quote from John Maxwell over a week ago and saved it because it spoke to my mind. "The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails". — John Maxwell

Life does bring challenges our way and sometimes it really knocks us for a loop. I had an arthritis flareup in my hip the first of this year. Boy did that put me down. And I did some complaining too often. I don't like being inactive, I am a doer. I had to adjust my lifestyle for a month, and thank God, I got past that.

I adjusted my sails, worked on my therapy and I felt like a million again.

Till last week and now I am down again. When I went to the doctor he said, "welcome to the 70s." I know he meant well, he is in his 70s as well and knows what life does. This whole episode got me to thinking. Now I am looking at adjusting my sails again trying to heal and be proactive for the future.

I confess that I am not satisfied with my current websites, they are progressing along. But now it is time to adjust my sails. This time off has given me an opportunity to spend more time in WA and to work on my training and websites.

At the moment my physical activities have to slow down. This is a great opportunity to use this time to improve my future. WA offers a great opportunity for the future.

I want to thank everyone here for all the blogs that are being generated every day. Been spending a lot of time reading and learning from each post.

This is a great community here. You may not know it but you all have helped me through this hard time.

Just wanted to say thanks and many blessing to everyone here. Keep up the good work.

Adjust the sails - Great quote Ray
I totally understand your limitations due to arthritis, as it can be very debilitating, as you have experienced.

Yes welcome to the 70's, same for me being more than half way through this age group. Fortunately I do not have any health issues & stay active. I watch my diet & have eliminated sugar.

My daily dose of Turmeric & apple cider vinegar helps me I believe. Check it out on Google - it does claim to assist arthritis.

I also am not at all happy with my website & will give special attention to this work over the the next couple of weeks.

Yes for sure Ray the WA community is great & second to none.

Denis

Thanks for the idea Denis, and thanks for the comments. Appreciate your thoughts more than you know.

Love the quote. I wish you a speedy recovery Ray.

Thank you Mick. It is one of those things that you just have to be patient and do what you can. The body has an amazing ability to heal if we take care of it's needs.
Thanks for commenting too.

All the best,

I think we can all see defects or faults in our webpages. That is why we are constantly updating them for the better. Sometimes it can be very hard to critique your own pages fairly.

Derek

Your right Derek. Thanks for the thoughts.

I doubt I will EVER be fully satisfied with my websites, always something to do!

Geez, pain is part of the learning in our 70s. My thumb is wrapped, one good friend borrowed the cane I bought last year when I needed it for a little while, another friend has a massive broken arm.

I know Rosana, part of the learning at our age. I always try to be thankful because things could be worse. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I love the feedback.

Yes, it is a great community, and glad it has helped you. I know about the wonderful arthritis thing, too...have had two knees and one hip replaced. The other one is hanging on.

It is a really good thing for those of us who are less physically active now to have WA, because it gives us reason to focus and learn. That is good at any age.

WA is really a good thing for those in the later years but there is always that struggle with technology that slows us down. But if you try there are so many ways you can make a difference in this world.

Ray, Sorry to hear about the flareup - I've heard it can be very painful but what a great turn around in your attitude. Doctors ugh-sometimes they don't think about what they say. I love the quote - I've got to write that down. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks Debbie. Our attitude makes all the difference. Thank you too for commenting, it is good to know I am helping.
