One Year Badge - Still Running

Surprise, surprise - Checking in today I found out that I made it to another milestone. To be honest I have forgotten when I first jumped in here feet first. It doesn't seem like a year. Sure thought I would be further along.

Success is like a marathon

all have heard of people who start something and rise to stardom in a very short time. It sometimes happens. Anything is possible. For most people though, success is more like a marathon than a sprint.

You have to have the determination to stick with it till you succeed. Admittedly I did not jump in running, I jumped in limping. The first month was good but then I kept putting off working on my progress because I was overwhelmed; so much to do, so far to go.

Thank God I didn't just quit. After a time I got back in the race and from that point forward I have been moving as fast as these old legs can carry me.

So Glad I Didn't Quit

In the beginning I could not even see the tunnel! You have to get in the game and get started moving before you can even get a small glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel - Success. This is just another step in the race that brings me closer to my desired end goal.

So for now I celebrate this small achievement. In the US military you get a good conduct medal for every 4 years of good conduct.

It doesn't mean you achieved some great feat, just that you made it through 4 years and did what you were supposed to do without getting into trouble. There were some that simply believed that you got this for not getting caught for 4 years :-). Guess it all depends on your point of view. Either way it is an achievement and in the military you wear it proudly.

If you are new to WA - Never Give Up, Success is Achievable.

You may have to run awhile without seeing any results. Think of WA as a marathon where you have to push forward one step at a time, even when your legs hurt so bad you don't think you can move another inch. But believe me if you keep pushing forward you will one day see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel the satisfaction of success.
