Practicing What I Learned

So I have watched videos all morning on food photography until my eyes are crossed:)

But I have really learned quite a bit in this time.

So I decided to practice what I learned.

I found out that my phone takes better photos than my little cheap Canon Power Shot. But a better camera is not in the budget right now.

I tried again to import photos from my phone to the computer with and USB cable. No go.

For some reason my computer doesn't recognize my phone. So on the advice of several I have emailed myself the photos and then downloaded them onto my computer.

A lot of work and time but what else can I do?

The photos are an improvement from previous ones I have taken but by no means perfect.

I used a pie I made several days ago so it is a little dried out but it served its purpose with my practicing:)

I thought I would share a few. They have not been edited. That's something else on the list to learn to do. lol

Those look like fantastic treats Tai, keep on keeping on my friend, it is all part of the learning process!

Hi, Tai

Some indirect lighting would help your photos without adding any glare.

Frank 😎🎸

I was using natural light in front of a window covered with a white sheet.

Hi, Tai

Yes, I saw that, but the images are a little dark. You might be able to get a good deal on Amazon for an indirect high-intensity lighting system.

I'm glad you're using your phone now because the resolution on those camera photos is too low.

I answered your initial post and added some images I enhanced with Canva, which has some pretty advanced features in the "edit image" button on the top menu. Take another look inside Canva because they are very easy to use.

I was taking the pictures all wrong. After watching the videos I found out what I was doing wrong regarding lighting and where I was taking them. I learned a lot from those videos and of course I did no editing on them either.

That’s great, Tai! 😎

Very nice results, Tai!

Jeff

Thanks

You're very welcome!

Hmmm, Yummy!
You can also save your pictures to Google drive if you have a Gmail account. Then open the drive on your laptop and download.

Why not upload your photos to the cloud, like a google drive from your phone? Then you can access the images from your desktop or laptop.

Hi Abie, I don't know how to do that!

Better still, from your phone, forward your images to an email address you can access on your desktop or laptop. Then open your attachments and download them to your drive on your desktop.

Or

Download Gmail and Google Drive apps on your phone, log in, and upload your photos. Let them sync, and they'll be ready to view and download from your desktop or laptop.

It is easy.

If they are not in the right format, you can covert them once on your desktop or laptop.
