Sale 11 Since Joining WA!
Some may wonder why is my title not just saying sale 11 instead of saying sale 11 since joining WA? The reason is that I have managed to generate around $33000 previously through affiliate marketing, but that was between 2010 and 2014 before I got hacked.
Since returning to affiliate marketing via WA in January 2019, I have now managed my 11th sale, and that is why the distinction.
LACK OF SALES HAS THE SHOCK FACTOR
When someone heard today I only generated 11 sales in my first year (a whole year), they were shocked and asked, "What's the point, lol?"
My response however was: "Don't worry, I am going to tell you what is going to happen now, coz I have been on this journey before and I can tell you from experience what is going to start happening now."
The first year is building the foundation, the second year is when things start happening. I know once you start generating sales, then it means that you are doing something right. First it is maybe one sale per month, then it is a sale every 3 weeks, then a sale every 2 weeks, a sale every week etc. until you get to that point where sales almost comes in on a daily basis and it becomes a less extraordinary occurence, as you sort of start expecting it to happen (and of course there will still be days or weeks you may make 0), but I am sure you get the idea.
BE ENCOURAGED!
So in short I want to let you know, "Do not get discouraged if things are going slow during your first year." Just know that things can start snowballing at any moment.
If I did not know better and learned from the past I may have given up by now agreeing with that bloke that told me that there is no point in doing this if you only generated 11 sales in a full year.
He however fails to see the bigger picture. So if you have been doing online marketing for a year now and yet to see sales, do not be discouraged too quickly. Some have given up just before their breakthrough!
Ps. So by the way, this sale today was not massive. It was a $70 sale with a commission of $18.29, but a sale is a sale and what is more important is the message behind the sale.
I hope those that are discouraged will take encouragement from this post. Your breakthrough is about to happen! Just be patient and continue to work hard at it!

I love this post because you write from the power of experience. I love that you pointed out that even a single sale means that you have done something right on your site. Like you say, year one is the foundation stage and to have sales in that phase is wonderful.
I have been very lucky that my site has yielded me 66 sales in the first 8 months. In money terms it is small, but what is exciting is what you say, this can only grow.

Schalk, you did it before and you can repeat it again. Your point of building a strong foundation holds very true.
Did you earn your original commissions as a member of Wealthy Affiliate or going it alone?
Congrats on your solid progress. If you can make 11, its a matter of time that will balloon to 110 and then 1100 etc.

Hi Edwin, I was going solo at it. I only joined Wealthy Affiliate in January 2019 as a new beginning to try learn do things right this time around from the very start, instead of me trying to re-invent the wheel.
I believe I could have made 4 fold or more what I made between 2010 and 2014 if I started out with WA from the very beginning.
One of the biggest mistakes was that I had way too many websites, instead of concentrating on a couple and making them into massive authority sites.
