Covid 19 Leads To A Change In Direction?

Between 2010 and 2014 fitness used to be my main niche bringing in the money, but when it all came to an end in 2014 due to being hacked I changed my direction when restarting online marketing in 2019 concentrating on the "make money online" niche as well as selling computerised embroidery software.

Now however with the corona virus and what has been happening lately, lockdowns etc. I decided to not necessarily change direction entirely, but to simply revive the fitness and health niche.

This was a bit of a difficult decision to make, because as the situation currently stands I hardly have enough time to get enough articles out there for my current two websites in order to establish them as authority sites.

However, for me there has never been a better time to revive health and fitness than right now. So if people have not seen much of me here lately, it is because I just finished reviving, updating and improving a fitness website that was lying in limbo and I am incredibly excited about it as it is now complete and ready to go.

However, this particular fitness website is only dedicated to the promotion of one particular fitness program and therefore not tailored to health in general, supplements, gym equipment and although can be done at home, it is not really your typical home fitness program, which is what will now be trending during lockdown.

My idea therefore is to create an authority fitness website to link to the fitness site I just described. This is going to be a massive amount of work though lol and not sure if it is the right thing to do due to my other websites that may not get as much attention as it needs if I my attention is too divided.

Question:

So what is your opinion? Do you think it is worth creating a brand new fitness and health website due to the coronavirus outbreak or do you think you should rather stick to your guns with the niche/s you already find yourself in and started to establish? Let me know your thoughts.

Keep safe everyone!

My one cent worth based on my WA training and observing how Magistudio works.

My niche is emergency preparedness and response. My website is too broad and lacks focus, but creating resilience in our lives is a broad subject. For several years I tried to manage half a dozen websites. I couldn't do any of them justice.

The advice I get from WA is to concentrate on one website till it is getting the result you want, then start something new,

I watch Jay. He has one core website, affiliateresources. Then he developed football snack helmets. When that was making money, He developed a site to promote his CDP oil MLM. Then he developed a site to sell succulents. Each site is very focused. I think one of the mistakes I've made is trying to crowd too many subjects into one website.

When the site you are currently working on is performing according to the goals you have set for it, it will be time to move on,

The question you should ask your self is, "What will I have to give up to accomplish this new project?"

It is always a trade-off. If the new project has more value to you than what you will have to give up, go for it.

Yes I agree. I abandoned the idea as it just became too much to juggle at the same time while having a full time job as well having to do this part time. I decided to stick to one website and leave the other two dormant for now. At the time I thought it to be a good idea as I still have quite a following on social media for fitness as that used to be my number one niche before I got hacked in 2014 and everything destroyed lol.

I like the idea of the fitness. People need something else to focus on aside from the news. My gym is still open because it's small. Only 10 people (including staff) are allowed in at one time. However, I find that I would rather work out with my weights at home at this point. It's nice to have options. I've done some classes online the past couple weeks.

It's important to stay fit and healthy right now.

Many thanks for your valuable input Debbie. Much appreciated! Wish you the very best of success with your gym!

I think this is a very good idea and you will get something positive out of this negative and frightening situation. Indoor or outdoor sport is very good for physical and mental balance. In addition, online sales of bodybuilding equipment have exploded. Now is the time to take a good opportunity.

Many thanks, Ingrid! Agreed! Thank you for your input and reassurance that I am thinking in the right direction.

People need to know how to stay fit while being confined Schalk. Its good for physical and mental health. Seems like a very good time to get a site like that going.

Many thanks for the confirmation, Linda. It is good to know that my idea to start something new from scratch is not a crazy idea lol. Every confirmation that I am doing the right thing certainly helps giving me that push I need to just go out there now and do it. Many thanks!

As you said, there's never been a better time. I would say go for it. I wish you the best.
Have a great weekend,
Mickey

Many thanks, Mick. Mick, what did you decide to do in the end? Working from home kept me quite busy so I was not really active here at all, but I did see in the corner of my eye that you had a blog article stating that you are in the travel niche and due to the coronavirus the travel niche collapsed for the time being.

Did you change your niche direction because of this, at least for now? Or did you find a way to continue to make the travel niche viable somehow?

Hi Schalk, I've decided to stay with the travel niche. Just a few months ago I started working on a new site around the wedding niche. Which isn't the best right now either. Sigh. But I don't want to start another site at this time. So I will have to keep keeping on.

Yeah who would have thought. No one saw this coming. A lot of people been caught by surprise. Yes, I think thats the best you can do right now to stick to your niches and create as much content as you can for it during lockdown. Once the situation improves everyone is going to get their wedding dates on again and everyone will be racing to get their flight tickets booked as they would not have been able to see family and friends and would have missed out on their precious holidays.

I think it's best to stick with them too. As you said, I can't imagine not wanting a vacation after this is over. And weddings are just postponed for a short while they can still plan.
