You never know when things will pick up!
Last week I posted my Wincher update that comes out on Mondays and it showed my search engine ranking for the keywords I have entered in there had gone up a total of 90 places in the previous month. This was way down from the average gain I usaually see.
Today it is time for another Wincher update and it shows my keywords (and therefore the rank of those posts) have gone up a total of 282 places! This is much better and more "normal". One rose 78 and the second best rose 71. I enter the long-tail keywords I use for my post titles so this is essentially the rank of my post titles themselves if someone searched for that phrase. I also add other keywords that are relevant even if they are not my post titles to see how those would be found if searched.
If you have Jaaxy you can do this even more efficiently and not have to wait a week to get the update.
There are pages of these graphs showing the results for all the keywords you enter. I am just showing the first page here.
I don't know why the rankings are so much better this week over last week. I have seen an increase in traffic the last two days which is reassuring as it had dropped off again. I have not been adding new content or doing as much on my site so it was not surprising it dropped down. I am still requesting a few comments, updating old posts etc.
You never know when things will pick up in regard to traffic so keep at it!

I guess as far as traffic is concerned, a lot of factors are involved- season (holidays, season needs, like skates in winter, or sunglasses in summer), natural disasters, weather extremes, economic crises, current crazes- difficult to mention all...:)

I get the impression a website is similar to the stock market, up and down it goes. Nothing to worry about, one has to stick with it and in the long run, it will all work out nicely.
I was wondering how the situation is with all the catastrophe animals, any news on that?

Yes, it does. I have not kept up with those animals other than seeing them pop up in the shelters on Twitter and I retweet them. It is so tragic. Some of them are in shelters rescued from the hurricane areas and now they will be put down if they are not adopted.
That is impressive and good news for you! I know that you were a little bummed with the traffic drop, but that seemingly is in the past! Cool! Congrats! Dave : )
Thanks Dave. Not back up to the level of traffic I had or need or want yet but improving. I finally did a new post...was really bogged down there for awhile.
I think it is listed in Swedish currency since the company is in Sweden. It says it is 6 (I guess Krona) per month. I am not familiar with the currency symbol. That is for one domain name and up to 100 keywords tracked. To add another 100 keywords or another domain is 3 Krona per month.
6 Krona is only 74 cents American! Quite a deal! They take regular Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
I don't pay for mine. I have always had it free. I guess I started before they charged.
I got lucky somehow and was able to stay on Wincher for free. I think I got on before they charged maybe? In any case, if I had Jaaxy I would not use it but if you don't have Jaaxy this is a much cheaper alternative even if you pay. I really like it.
Thanks Sue! I was feeling down and discouraged but this sure helps. I wonder if the increased traffic is due to the holiday?
Isn't it interesting how this information comes when we need it the most! I guess it could be due to the holiday...lots of people off work today. I spent 3/4 of the day at work, realized it was a holiday and I was getting paid for it anyway! LOL!
It is not a holiday from work for me so I forgot it was a holiday! In Alaska we celebrate Alaska Day instead of Columbus Day so we get Oct 18th off.
I don't think the holiday is enough to account for the rise in my Google rankings though since those we already reported on Wincher first thing this morning before today's traffic.

Great post. Reminds me of how much I don't understand. I was in the "hot seat" webinar the other night and I was clueless about this part. I would not even know where to begin with putting myself in the hotseat. And while I have seen Wincher and tried the fee Jaaxy, I am still sluggish in this part. I think I need to go back over some training. There is always something I see for the first time when I do that. Actually yesterday was the first time around in Course 2 Lesson 5 for me. Distractions.....

Wincher isn't covered in the lessons I don't think. I don't remember how I found it.
I saw that word somewhere. Gotta do some research.
