Year End Report, Made $1,000 profit

Last Update: January 03, 2019

As promised here is my year end report. It is nothing to scream from the rooftops yet but it is WAY better than last year and I made just over $1,000 profit. I KNOW that this works now and I can clearly see how to keep moving forward. I know this new year will be even better and I can't wait to compare these numbers with the end of 2019. I had many challenges this year including new health problems and the earthquake to deal with and many more in between. These took my time away from my websites. I know I can make WAY more if I put more time in and stay consistant.

On Amazon I made a total of $378.28 in 2018. Not huge but, the year before I made only $89!

You can see my Amazon results above.

From WA I made a total of $993 for 2018. Here are my WA payments.

This is not including the $138 I got paid 1/1/2018 since I made that in Nov. 2017 for the Black Friday sale but did not get paid until Jan. So I am counting that in 2017. Likewise, I am counting my Black Friday Sales for Nov. 2018 in 2018 even though they aren't getting paid out until 2019. I suppose it doesn't matter which way we count these as long as we are consistant.

Therefore I am counting the last $130 pending from Black Friday Sales this year as well.

So that is a total of $1,371.28 for 2018. In 2017 I made $224.Therefore, I made 6 times more in 2018 than 2017. This does not account for expenses however. If I include expenses, I did not make a profit in 2017 at all.

I also made $6 from Shareasale but have not been paid yet. I have not made anything from other affiliates but I don't promote them much.

So, now I will subtract my expenses.

WA membership: $299 Black Friday Membership

WA domain $13.99

Namecheap domain $13.16

Wincher premium $7 per month now (used to be free) so total of about $35

This is a total of $361.15

That results in a net profit of $1,010.13! YAY!

In 2017 I had the WA membership of $299 as well as the domain names of $13.99 and $13.16 but not the Wincher expense. So my expenses in 2017 were $326.15 and I made $224. Therefore I was at a net loss of $102.15.

So, 2017 - $102.15 (net loss)

and 2018 +$1,010.13 (net gain)

Overall I am very pleased with this progress.

I can't wait to see what 2019 brings!

Onward and Upward!!

Jessica

Hello! I love the article and breakdown you provide. There's hope! lol.

I have a couple questions for you, when you have time to answer please do:

1. How many sites do you run?
2. How often do you post(promote) each site?
3. What's your average monthly earnings(roughly)?
4. How long have you been doing this?

Excellent progress, keep up the good work.

May I make a suggestion although you may have already but try to target higher priced items on Amazon etc. Looking at your figures you are averaging $1 per sale. If you can get more higher priced items in the $200-$300 and above you will see those figure increase. Easier said than done depending on the niche you are in but worth a look.

Example: One of my best selling items is at $301 and earns me $13 for each sale.

Thanks for the tip. Great idea.

Yes, I have thought about that. Unfortunately, that is difficult since I try to review only products I actually use myself. I will get there eventually and branch out.

Part of the reason my averages are so low is because people buy so many random, small items that are not related to my product reviews.

Thanks!

Thank you for being “real”. I see so many unreal success stories here it’s hard to know who we can trust but when I see realness like this, warms my heart to know that people like you still exist in the world. Congrats on your success and keep up the great work, WA application and momentum, if you can pinpoint your exact “recipe” that got you the $1000 then you can easily create a “rinse and repeat” recipe to move up even faster this year. I’m so happy for you and wish you amazing success this year. If you ever need a boost in your rankings, hit me up. I’d be happy to send some links.

I tell you what, your next post that you make,
As long as you have a properly written meta title and description, send it to me on PM, I will ensure all “looks good” for Google and then I will take it to the Googlebot and get it rapidly indexed. Just trying to help where I can. Keep up the great work!

Is that the same as "Fetch" in Google Analytics? I do that every time I add a new post. Thank you.

I meant Google Webmaster Tools. I would be interested to hear what you are referencing. Thanks.

What I mean is your Browser Title on the All In One SEO plugin, is the title of the post or page keyword optimized? Also your Meta description on the plugin for that post or page, do you have 22 words that include your best keyword phrase, a benefit, a feature and a call to action? If you get that in place and send me a URL that I can view to ensure you've done this all correctly, I will be happy to get it A) rapidly indexed for you through my private portal access with Google (one of the rewards they gave me for winning Google Engage back in 2009) and B) I will drive some links at it to get it up in the Top 5 pages of search. Cheers!

Way to go Jessica!!! As a former CPA, I like that you are showing net profit.

This is even all the more outstanding because you have done this in spite of having a job, family obligations, rental properties if I recall correctly, kitty 's health challenges, an earth quake and weeks of after shocks from the earthquake.....

May 2019 be more healthy, productive and less eventful.

Thanks Cora,

I have two websites but most of my sales come from the first one. The second one I started in 2018 and I have not added as much to it as I would like. It is still a bit of a baby. I have so many ideas but not enough time to implement them.
