Working up Motivation!

I have been so unmotivated lately when it comes to my sites! It is a bit strange since I was doing so well this spring and earlier this summer. I was getting good traffic and even better sales! I was so happy when each month brought higher sales on Amazon. They were not huge amounts but getting $49 in a month as well as my $70 per month here from WA was starting to feel like I was actually making some money from this! If I kept it up I could have had my sales keep increasing.

I dropped everything howeve. I didn't have a whole lot of choice since I had health problems and still had to go to my regular job as well as other family issues, helping Mom find an income property we will manage and more.

Now that I have had a tiny amount of time I have done some keyword research but I am not feeling very inspired to write. I guess part of that is that I have some other chores to fix on my sites first. These other chores took all the wind out of my sails. I felt like I needed to fix those instead of just writing posts.

Hopefully my motivation comes back soon. I would hate to waste the momentum I gained this spring. I need to make sure I don't overdue it though. I need to find time to get outside which is such a struggle for me now that my ankle has been bad (though getting much better finally) and we live in a much more urban area than we used to. I so miss having open land nearby where I could just walk outside and go! So, with a few months remaining of the glorious Alaska summer, I have to find a way to do all of the above!

Onward and Upward,

Jessica

Motivation fades away. Habit remains. If you wait for motivation you will fail. Instead, make it a habit to work on your most important thing at least 30 minutes every day. Do it first thing in the morning if you can. That is the advice I get, but practically I end up doing it in the evening. Doesn't matter when, it just matter that you do it.

I am a night person too. I do my best work late in the day. I will get back in the swing of things eventually but I am glad I took some time off. I can't risk getting so sick that I can't go to my job.

The feeling resonates with me, Jessica, exactly.

At the moment I do have to make a living and chasing that has taken me away from here ... and that does demotivate. I was away a full two weeks and when I checked in my ranking had deteriorated from near 200 to near 400! I got cracking early this morning, working on three computers: one to deal with backlog; one to deal with recent emails (I love responding to emails); and the other to welcome premium members.

I will be here the whole day for I know not what tomorrow holds.

Awesomeness!

Well, the WA rank is not important. It is fun and nice but has no reflection on your business. So don't worry at all about that! I was an ambassador for 9 months but dropped out last month.

It sounds like you are working very hard and I am sure you will do well!

Thanks,
Jessica

Thanks for the kind words, Jessica. I have now stopped watching that rank number. I am focusing on the training and the first article to my website is up. That really feels good.

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

As you progress here your rank may go up anyway if you are active in the community. It is just a nice bonus.

Jessica

You will be back and motivated again soon, Jessica. These troughs are normal, happens to all of us especially after a long break due to reasons beyond our control.

No worries!

Kaju

Yes, I know it is normal and I am being careful not to stress over it. Thanks Kaju.

Hi, Jessica,
If it's any consolation I too have been in the same boat. Life's stresses that got in the way etc. I kind of lost my Mojo and want to write but don't know where to start again.

I am now just slowly getting back into things. When we are constantly at it blogging working etc we are bound to get that point where we hit a brick wall.

Sometimes it helps knowing that we are not the only one going through struggles. I hope things get back on track for you soon which it will for sure. Motivation comes back when we least expect it. Like a flick of a light bulb.

I am going back to my A4 Note pad and starting to write down things again. My to do list. My important list etc. Also writing down on paper my own achievements. I think that will boost you up too. You have so many achievements some you probably forgot about even.

Wishing you all the best Jessica. You will be back on track and use this time as a reflection time, on what you have already achieved. "Onwards and Upwards as the saying goes!" :)

Have a flip through this post again from Kyle It may help too. I have just read through it again also. Thinking of you Jessica. xx

~Debs :)

Debs,

I couldn't of put out a better response or suggestion
to a lull in the cycle of progress than you have!

As we go about the journey here in pursuit of our affiliate businesses it grounds us to keep in mind that we share the experience collectively.

The responses and encouragements written out from each other, shore-up self doubts and serve to give us a "little kick moving forward". To you sister I say: "Hey...I felt that, grr...

THANK YOU

I'll review the Kyle link as well...lol.

***Jessica, I am putting my positive energy out here to say: I know your strengths for all that you are involved in now personally, and I realize your this will ebb and tide, but you are making the world you envision happen...so Shine Brilliant, So Inspiring that you are here!

Respectfully David R.

Thanks Deb. I feel the same way. It really helps knowing that we all have ups and downs and it is perfectly normal!

I will read the post. I hope your motivation kicks in for you too.
Thanks!
Jessica

:)

Sometimes a break is just what you need. I have been absent from here and focused on writing.... lots. Currently publishing a post a day.
I know that soon, I will have to take a break because burnout is just around the corner and I am missing my interactions on here.
Just go with the flow. Your business and your motivation can wait a while.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Thanks Karen. Wow! A post a day! Good for you. Yes, I am glad it can wait until I am ready.

Jessica

Hey Jessica--You just need to reboot. We all need to once in awhile! Take it easy and do what you can. There is no time limit here. I am praying for your health issues and hope you are feeling better soon! XOXO You're doing great!

Erin :)!

Thank you so much Erin!

My pleasure, my dear! xo

Maybe your body is just telling you that you need a little break.
I have been sick also and have done virtually nothing on my site for a week. I just don’t feel like it. I’m hoping that when I feel better my motivation will return.
I hope you’re health is back not track Jessica.
Cheers
Melissa

Thanks Melissa. I have been slowed down for a lot longer than a week. I hope you feel better!

Jessica

Hi Jessica- Ask yourself WHY you began your journey and let your WHY inspire you to continue
Whenever I feel like I might be slipping into a "don't want to state" or an uninspired state- I always go back to my WHy and it kicks start me into gear again
I hope your WHY does this for you

You can do this
Vicki

Good idea Vicki! I have been thinking about this and will focus on it.

Jessica

Keepon with it Jessica!

Thanks Mike.

Sometimes when I feel unmotivated I usually take a break to gather my thoughts and do some reading for inspiration. Sometimes you need to take some time to look for inspiration and do some planning.

I agree. Thanks.

so true
